Default The win streak

i just wanted to say, and I include myself in this, how nice it is that this win streak has quieted the critics on this board. the more insane ones especially.

here's to number five.

Yes indeed.

Now if we can somehow make it to number 6 or 7.... or even 6 or 7 wins out of 8.... then i'll be a HAPPY boy!

The main concern for the Raps during this 4 game winning streak is still the inability to rebound the ball. If they get all 5 guys contributing on the boards tonight, the win streak should run to 5. If Jose is back tonight, it might be a good chance for him to get some limited minutes off the bench against Charlotte's 2nd unit. I would still give Bank's more minutes than Calderon though.

Boston is on a 2 game skid without Pierce. Its a longshot, but I think the Raps can win this game too without Pierce in the lineup (and with Davis getting hurt the previous game).

I'll be a bit more impressed with the team if they can beat a full strength team that is better than them.

The clippers beat Boston for crying out loud. But I have little faith that an undermanned Boston team wont stomp the shit out of the Raps.

It has? I have still seen a number of posts citing reasons for the win streak: (i) level of competition, (ii) opposition team injuries. I think these observations are not without merit.

We'll have a better idea in the New Year when the likes of BOS, SAS, ORL, and even PHI darken our doors.

Well it certainly has reduced the number of "let's blow up the team" threads.

The topics of conversation which bordered on nonsense have totally gone down. thank god.

hell yes it has. the sky is falling knee-jerkers are quiet, and the posts have leveled off. just check the threads.

you're right. level of competition has something to do with it, but we were getting the door blown off by teams like these earlier in the year. i've got a pretty good idea of what this team can do right now. they're moving the ball and defending. and most importantly, with the exception of the third quarter on sunday against detroit, they've been playing well from start from finish.

perhaps the sad part is that this effort wasn't there for the first month and a half of the season. the early days of this franchise was little talent and a lot of effort. now the reverse has been the case.

if they play the way they do against the teams you listed then they've got a fighting chance. they play longer together, and execute more with a style that plays to their strengths then those teams become beatable. i think if they win tonight then boston is toast.

Just wondering why you group Philadelphia with elite teams like Boston, San Antonio and Orlando. Philly is shit and we finally get a chance to play them we should beat them easily.

The saddest about this streak has been the negativity (oh well, it means nothing because we SHOULD have beat this crappy team) around it.

Beating these past 4 teams hasn't impressed me....

However, the WAY that we've gone about beating them HAS.

NJ and CHI are crappy teams... but not everyone beats them by 30 pts.

Putting the boots to DET the first time and holding them to 27% FG was insane... no matter who they were missing. And the return game was even more impressive (except for the 3rd Q hiccup).

I hope that one soon fans will start revelling in their team's wins (as they should) rather than their losses.
