No way do they match a contract starting at 8Mil per season on a long term deal after just signing Galinari to a huge contract at the same position. Not going to happen, especially when you look at their cap situation.

If we offer a contract of 32Mil/4yrs or 40Mil/5yrs they don't match no how they structure the damn thing.

Exactly. To spend 30-40Mil on him after Gallo's contract and their cap situation and key players coming up for extensions is crazy. Hell they just gave NeNe/Galinari a combined 110Mil i don't think it's a stretch that they can't afford more then 6Mil ish per year.

Strong team without a super-star will get you to the conference semi-finals. Been there, done that. If you want a team that is a perennial top four and has a good chance at the title in Toronto, you have to suffer through the lean years until you get that super-star.

Everything else is rhetoric or self-delusion.

Affalo makes 7.75 million/year until 2014/2015, he has a player option of 7.9375 million in 2015/2016. Birdman makes about 4.5 million next year and about 4.8 million the year after that. Harrington makes almost 6.7 million next year and then has 2 years after that, which are non guaranteed to a degree. Just sayin...

I don't understand this.

You want to sit...and sit... and sit until a super-star falls into the Raptors laps? And suffer through years of endless losing seasons only to make little to no progress? Well damn Mike, I gotta hand it to you, you are more of a committed fan than I am.

Jason Kidd couldn't shoot for the better part of his early career. He turned out alright I guess.

Rondo has significantly improved his jumper each season he's been in the league. It's only a matter of time before it comes along. He's definitely putting in the time.
