Solomon was a SG in Europe! Why is he playing PG?

There is a reason he played in Europe, because he wasn't good. What do you expect from him.
I wish they played Ukic more because I've seen him play and he's better than what he's showing this year, give him some playing time.
The problem is Mitchell doesn't know how to coach and set plays for different players. You can't let Solomon run Calderon's plays.
Mitchell watch Bill Belichick and get some coaching tips. Even though he's a football coach learn something from him. He lost the MVP of the league, his top 2 running backs and his team still manages to win and score points. The trick is he didn't give Brady's playbook to Cassel, he uses plays that Cassel can run and makes plays according to his abilities.

Solomon is good and he was one of the best players in Europe at his position. You can check his Euroleague stats. Otherwise Anthony Parker who was also selected as MVP in Euroleague would not recommend him. Solomon's problem is he is not disciplined enough.

Yes, seven turnovers is really bad but people who accuse him for trying to be a scorer should have a look at the stats sheet. Bargnani, Parker, Kapono, Moon.. they are all lost. Bosh and O'Neal take the whole load on their back. Nobody shoots the ball.

Don't tell me about Ukic. He is like a kid that came from high school to NBA. He's no Lebron James though lol.

LOL .... a day ago, everybody was jumping on Solomon's bandwagon, now everybody wants him crucified. Like I said, Solomon needs to play more than few good games before I joined his bandwagon and has to play more bad games to crucify him.

hey guys, this is my first post here.give roko and will a break. the transition of coming from europe isnt easy and they will need to go through a learning curve. think of it as a learning experience for the raptors. giving them heavy minutes right now is a much better scenario then Calderon getting injured on later on in the season and them having to get used to it when the nba is in top form. roko is young and has large potential with his quickness and height and solomon just needs to relaz. they will get better as the season goes on.

Im just saying. give it some time and i have a feeling we will be surprised when things start to gel.

Well said gt and welcome aboard to RF.

I'm praying for a better performance from Will and Roko tonight, but mainly Solomon. He has to play with more composure because another night of mass turnovers from him will make another long night at the office for the Raptors.

I predict a solid game from Solomon tonight. 13 points, 7 assists and 3 turnovers.

problem is, solomon is not used to playing two games in 3 days, especially when given heavy minutes. It's kind of to be expected that he will struggle, TOs are often a sign of fatigue and/or lack of concentration. He's never going to be a high assist/low TOs pg like Jose is, but he can do a decent job as a backup. He was torched by Nelson, but was ok against johnson and even chalmers. He was playing above his head last night - so it shouldn't come as a major surprise really.

at least he knows HOW to play.

and to be honest, slow or not, his defence would be a bit smarter.

solomon was in the nba before, wasn't he? even if he wasn't, his problem isn't much of a transition matter, but more of just the basics and fundamentals. he needs to calm down. he's trying WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY TOO HARD. that's why he's getting stuck in situations where he panics. for me... i just what him to advance the ball and give it to Bosh or jo. that's all. he doesn't need super speed or be sneaking around... he doesn't need to create shots for himself. he doesnt need to score. i'd be happy with that.
