With the supporting cast around Demar, he might.

With less attention around him, like double teams and shit he can operate fine offensively, but then again we are talking about the number 9 pick in a weak draft.

I highly doubt it. When VC came on the scene we weren't exactly a good team and he played alot of minutes and was the guy right away if i recall correctly. This won't be the case with Derozan, he's coming to a good team with many options ahead of him.

I doubt it. DD will not be scoring much with the supporting cast around him but he will get a lot of expereince and we'll be good in the years to come

Hell no. If he posts 10PPG, 4REB with good D, I'll be happy.

Does it really matter?

He's not Vince Carter and he's not surrounded by vets like Oakley, Willis, Dee Brown, Doug Christie and he certainly won't be the focal point of the offense.

I watched all three vegas games for Derozan. Vince Carter has more skill than Derozan entering their rookie season. I would compare Derozan rookie season with Mopete's rookie season. DD has alot of work to reach the impact Carter made in his introductory years in the NBA. VC was rookie of the year. Derozan will be lucky to make first team all-rookie. It will be Blake Griffin and Tyreke Evans battling out for rookie of the year.

Vince came out in his 3rd year when he was much more developed, DD is much more raw having only spent 1 year in college... he can't dribble, shoot the 3, pass, etc. His game is basically midrange J and transition hoops and maybe defence... the best he can hope for is probably a Dahntay Jones like impact in his first year, or if he plays SF, more like Travis Outlaw or a less dumb Moon

But Vince was in general more of an athletic specimen and a superior prospect in almost every way. Demar's first step and explosiveness off the dribble isn't close to where Vince's was, and he's nowhere near the leaper off two feet. I think DD's athleticism is more like Danny Granger or Josh Howard's. Which is great, but it's not Vince
