Default Will coaches name Calderon to allstar team ?

Jose Calderon continues to post monster numbers at the point guard position. It was mentioned on Raptors t.v. that coaches around the league are taking notice, they said that Jose might be added to the all star team. If he does it would be great thing for the Raptors and their organization. This would be an insperation to all players that hard work and team play does pay off.

Well take a look how Jose Calderon compares to the other 2 guys. If stats mean anything Jose Calderon will be going to the allstar game. Whats more impressive is that last nights stats line are not even included.

Rondo????? Are you insane? He's played very solid, but it's called ALLSTAR game for a reason. Although Jose has played well, theres too many guards ahead of him that have had better statistical seasons:

Kidd(11+9+10), Billups(18+8), Tinsley(15+9)+all the shooting guards. He isnt going to get voted in by fans and I dont think theres a chance in hell he gets voted in over 3 guys who have played better than him stats wise and performance wise really due to them starting the entire year obviously. If JC started from day 1 and put up 15+10 with 50% its a whole different story, but right now its not close and has 0 chance of happening.

Wishful thinking, but Jose won't get nominated by the coaches. Had he been the starter playing starter minutes since the start of the season maybe, but not now.

There's always next year though.

Yeah, he has a couple of things working against him. 1) He doesn't have the minutes, even though if you look at his numbers and forecast where he would be if given the same minutes as the other top PGs (which is a treacherours thing to do anyway), he has numbers that would be better than theirs; 2) He is playing in Toronto, where you have to be a BIG TIME star before the rest of the NBA notices

Commom guys don't you believe in Santa Claus , how about some Christmas cheer for our guy Jose Calderon. I know its a long shot, the guy just gets better and better and is solid every game. Bosh had his best game as a raptor so the myth he can't that feed the low post is gone. Jose is starting to show that he can also be a scorer 15 pts last night. Only if our shooters can be alittle more consistant. Last nights game the differance was in shooting, we all can talk about defence, both teams had the same quality of looks, they were just more consistant.
Now over to Bargs, many would disagree that it was wrong to insert him into the starting line up, but I was happy to see him get the start. I just can't understand though why Rasho gets zero minutes. I bet that BC was the one to tell Mitch to start him.
Finally I don't know what you guys think maybe I am reading to much into it but doesn't it seem that Delfino has trouble with his shot selection and Dixon has trouble running the team as a point guard ?

Just came across this article from espn it mentions calderon. Calderon has been mentioned as a possible coaches selection for the allstar game on Raptors t.v., however what could prevent him from getting the nod is that he has not started all year. Anyway read this looks like Calderon is starting to get recognized.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...simmons/071218

Jose Calderon: How do you say "fantasy stampede" in Spanish? El stampedio de fantasia? Calderon's monster stretch of starts after two separate T.J. Ford injuries recently (10 games, 107 assists and 15 turnovers until a subpar game against Boston on Sunday) makes him a summer free-agent target for anyone who wants to emulate Phoenix's run-and-gun offense. It also opens the door for a very logical question: Why the hell was Jose Calderon backing up T.J. Ford???

I ASK THE SAME QUESTION ?

Raptor123, dude, you should be Calderon's agent. Seriously! I've never seen a guy so dedicated to one player before. Lol. Well, either be his agent or try to get a date with him. Choice is yours.

I am not going against you saying that Jose deserves to be an all-star. Considering the numbers he has put up in the minutes he has played, he is definitely one of the top guards in the league. Problem is fan voting and even with the coach's selection, they tend to go more with big names. As Lennox Lewis used to say, "It's politricks."

Thanks Jay I will take it as a compliment. I am dedicated to winning and I strongly believe that Jose is a very big part of it. I also believe that Bargs is the other key to the puzzle, now we got both these guys going at the same time.If you feel strongly (point guard position) about what we have to do to get better you keep working at it sooner or later people will understand. We are in the present and Jose is leading the way. We got Bosh and Parker starting, the diamond in the rough is Joey. With alittle more work and maybe some starts I believe Joey can be that beast we are looking under the boards. I love moons play but I also like the potential that Joey Graham has in busting guys in the lane in the defensive zone. Anyway I would like to wish all the posters a Merry Christmas, please be safe and don't drink and drive.

I dont think Joey has what it takes honestly. He's been badly outplayed by moon all year and he's shown that he has problems getting it up (mentally in games). I think we should focus on Andrea's game because he's definately shown the potential. Joe.y graham is definately not a consistent player.

IMO

Joey should play baseball. He is Jose Cansecos brother. Jose Graham cannot play basketball. Cant pass, mop, shoot, defend, think. Just not a good player. Nice guy though. I bet if you asked him what the square root of pie was he'd say 'can I have a piece'. Joey Graham. Superstar.

Man, Joey Graham is no diamond in the rough. He's not even rough...and he's closer to Lou Diamond Phillips than anything that shines. The guy has a body made for crushing people inside, but he plays like a sissy. Inconsistent, aloof, he has all sorts of problems. He has had too many chances blown, way too many.

there's no way jose gets ahead of kidd/billups, and there's no way they select 3 pure point guards when there are so many star sgs. It would be nice if he made it, but in the end, with the hole we have at pg, I'd rather have him rest those extra days, then to play in a meaningful game where he would be utterly ignored behind all the star power there ...

I don't think Jose will make the allstar team and that's not a slam at him... but he's just not at the all star level. Let's not rape the allstar concept any further and suggest names like his and Rondo's because that's just a travesty.
