Bottom line for me is that I don't mind tanking if the Raptors organization is sure to have this team run like Lakers, Spurs, OKC, GW for the next 5-7+ years AND are able to keep the potential all star player within this team for good PLUS winning a Championship.

If that doesnt happen I can guarantee you that the high draft pick player will leave.

Tanking isnt a one button solution. There are so many things to consider and having results in the long run is one of them.
But that's the thing... No strategy gives you a guarantee to contention. It's just that rebuilding via high picks gives the best opportunity to do so.

You say tanking isn't a one button solution, but in the same post say we should sign Wiggins, as if it will be easy. News flash, if he's even decent, it won't be.

this is a good year to grab some good talent at low prices. The entire Bulls team looks like it's gonna implode, I'm liking Hinrich, Deng, Taj, and Butler

You can either have "gays contract is bad" or we won't get anything better. the reality is 20 mil spent on any reaosnably max player in FA is going to be better. not really caring if its one year or two. If he plays for a contract next year its just fine by me. Better to trade him though cause it probabaly helps us spend over the cap if required.

Do you know how the cap works? Rudy expiring doesn't give us 20m to use on a max free agent.

Other teams that have "tanked" still aren't top of the league. Portland had legitimate top draft picks who got injured and wallowed in the shit pan for a couple years. It's all luck.

Can we just play basketball? Let's develop a winning culture. Let's develop an identity that we can lure players with.
Indy also had a much better financial situation which in today's nba you can't ignore.

And as for the last paragraph, BCs koolaid, and eveyone here that was spinning it. And who the #$%^ expects you to control what they do?? Wat?

And in 2 years time we will have 5 players on rookie contracts and no Gay contract. Whats your point.
You have a problem dude. You said in your first post that I read it. Then you added that I thought the post was garbage or some bs like that.

Yeah I am not confined to this place and I am on multiple boards. Aka whatever the f**k we want doesn't matter cuz the organization does what it wants.

RG and KL situation.

Reading comprehension. Read the last senetence. Maybe if you just put me on ignore because at this point you will argue about anything just for the sake of it. At least thats what i'm gonna do.

what I meant was that if gay actually plays very well, whoever signs him will watch as he opts out and potentially leave in free agency. On the other hand, if he sucks, he'll just opt in and they'd be stuck with him for one more year. Unless gay commits to one avenue or another. Either way, it's a minor thing - no way rudy opts out, not unless he has an insane agent. His next salary will be a massive drop, I'd be surprised if he gets 12/yr given his recent production.

But why did you add this: On another note, as for the article form freakonomics being garbage... only to someone so fixed in their position they can't even take it for what it is.

Who said it was garbage? I never referenced the article nor talked about it so why is it there?

Got it? Anywho you don't need to explain anything and I really couldn't care less if you did.

But hey man you are right about everything. I'm actually digging DC. Finances and the cap doesn't matter anywho. Extend everybody up. We need to commit to this core immediately. You're the f**king boss on here.

Too bad you've said my name though

PS: There's a thing called multiquote or you can make multiple posts or replies. it's easy for clarifying things up boss man

I'm the one he was referring to when he was talking about the article. It is in fact a shitty article and he hasn't said anything showing that it's not except "nah you're just blinded by your opinion"

Yeah, I read it, otherwise I wouldn't have pointed out your error. Your suggestion is that if we get rid of Rudy and spend that money elsewhere we can have a max FA who is worth the money, which isn't the case. Your last sentence does not change that.

At this point It'd be hard to get mad at a tank, Rudy is a huge waste of a player and he's our main player. Unless we can convert him for an actual max player we'll be treadmil team... I honestly think even if we right out dump him and get a decent SF we'd be a better team. He's a primary scorer who can't score, decent defense but does more harm in his offense then his defense, and he has a max contract.... if he was half his contract or something nd we had more cap space then great, but he costs 2-3 times his actual worth. I'm still in a idc mode on which direction but like i said I wont be upset for a tank now, nd it's really just cause of Rudy. I didn't think he'd be worse then last year, didn't even think it was possible.

Yeah I know that's why I wrote the PS at the end. Forgot to change the rest as I was in a rush.

Again reading comprehension - read the last sentence of what I wrote aka the PS. I would've eliminated the rest had I not been busy.

Also - I'm being ignored -

Ah ok. No I'm sorry I acted a little rash. I've been writing papers which means I get crazy. Also I did put that PS at the end and would have edited the whole post in the end had I not been time constrained.
