Default Why is Turkoglu's production declining?

Quote:
In 7 games with no rest, Turkoglu has averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and shot just 37.7 percent. With one or more days rest, Turkogluís stats are very close to the 15, 5, and 5

In the past, playing on no rest has not been a problem for Turkoglu. Last season in Orlando, Hedo put up his best stats on no rest: 18.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.0 steals in 34.7 minutes.

Turkoglu doesnít seem to be improving as he gets used to playing with his new teammates. In November he averaged 14.0 points, in December 13.1 points, and in 5 games in January just 10.6 points.
Turkoglu starts slow

What is up with Hedo Turkoglu?

He seems fatigued most of the time.

Is he sick, hurt, or was it just playing too much ball over the past 2 years?

He should stop spending his Saturday nights at "This is London" until 5 in the fucking morning...maybe that will help him out in those Sunday games...

Because hes a fucking lazy fatass who BC jumped the gun to spend our precious cap space on without looking at the big picture.

Triano hasnt used him as much yes, but when the guy needs breathers 6 minutes into the fucking quarter that just isnt acceptable and he shouldnt be getting more touches when he isnt playing any defence nor his conditioning is up to par. Get in shape then we'll talk.

We're not athletic enough with Calderon at the 1, and Bargnani at the 5 to have an unathletic out of shape 3 man.

its his age combined with his conditioning, probably has caught up with him. You can only get away with being out of shape in basketball for so long before you start to wear. Hedo peaked 2 season's ago on a roster that was meant for his game, the biggest defensive beast in the league to compensate for his D and cleanup his low percentage chucks, exellent shooting pg's with limited distribution skills, orlando was the place for hedo to overachieve in a big way and he did

Its the first year on a five year contract. He's gonna earn his highest pay in the decline years of his career. Just like Peja, let your rep and past play earn you the contract, and enjoy the money while your production slowly decline over the years.

Devil's advocate here...Bargnani's more athletic than the vast majority of the league's centres.

Either way I don't think we can afford to have an unathletic, out of shape small forward period; unless we had a dominant shot blocker down low, which we don't. The fact that we have Bargnani down low is irrelevant.

Point taken. I think he's in the bottom half of centers in terms of athleticism. However, he's way better at basketball than half of the centers... we're not moving him anyways.. he works well with Bosh and is D-ing up and Rebounding. I don't think our frontcourt has lost any game for us this year outside of Atlanta.

Turkoglu or Calderon.... one of them has to go. I think atleast 90% of the forum agrees with that.

I think this is false and that it was just Triano's godgiven masterplan of delegating minutes before the season even started to sub him first every game.

bargnani is very quick, he's just not strong enough. However, he's willing and showing signs of great improvement in that aspect, and maybe even next season he'll be strong enough to stand-up to any center in the game today.

as far as turkoglu, he's not conditioned well enough. He lost too much time this summer with the national team, and than the injury during training camp prevented him for getting into good shape. He's not very athletic to begin with, so that's not helping. I think he will get better as the season progresses.

That being said, I think he's doing a good job on D. Many complained about his defense when we signed him, but apart for a few games against very athletic SFs, he's far from being a liability on D. It's funny people cry for marion and his defense, but get on hedu's back for his offense ...

I saw this coming when he was signed. I knew that he was on the decline and was not even close to what this team needed.

ummmm i'd vote we move both. that took oh a nano second to decide. problem is that's a lot of cash to move and they aren't worth it.

Raptor's Kijiji add...
Out of shape PG and SF totally lacking defensive skills for sale. Long term hugely overpayed contracts.

Any takers?

guess not ;-(

Marion didn't want to stay at the low ball offer BC made. If BC had done a better job offering a reasonable salary he may have stayed.
