Question Why the hate for Triano? Seriously?

Okay

I'm getting really really sick of it

Why the hate? Bucks game is now over... I could go waste my time and pull out quotes saying the raps losing that game 2 quarters in is his fault somehow when majority of the team was struggling, Bargs was out, turk had 3fouls on him etc

Then

Raps turn it around, play zone which is a adjustment the COACH makes and no one gives him love for that?

Are we fans on this board all really just looking for a scapegoat and he's the easiest target because what... hes a rookie coach or something?

Jack Armstrong for those of you who watched the game gave alot of props to Triano for adjusting to the bucks. He gave both coaches props... and im sure Jack Armstrong knows more about basketball then everyone on this board... perhaps combined..

So can we stop all the hate and bashing .... unless you want to give him some love to when he does a good job?

P.S: I dont have a man crush on him, I disagree with alot of stuff he's done up to this point but and I'm not to fond of the Jack/Caldy combo he uses most of the time ....but it seemed to work tonight against there zone so... Good Job!

I really question alot of his decisions, especially with the rotations. But tonight he did a good job with going to Zone D. I give him credit for that. But i'm nowhere near sold on him. But my view of him is improving somewhat.

Scapegoat is a great word..... I think it's exactly that.

Hopefully people remember this game the next time that they want to trash the guy.

He may not be the interview that Sam was but the man has the mind for the game....

... and he too is improving with every game... just like his team.

Really only after a game U can write like that.He was even today not so perfect.Calderon played too much today,Derozan could play more.I even don't like to talk about his stupid desicions in other games.

Sometimes he makes good decisions sometimes bad.People shouldnt pull the trigger on Jay.He has helped develop a few of our players games but whats more important is getting the wins.

Calm down, he's no genious. I'll say he's finally getting a better grasp of this team, but he has s long way to go to convince me & others that he's the man long term. Let's wait and see.

Him making the right move this time does not nullify all his previous mistakes. Just saying

Just like the players, he is still learning to work with the players on this team. It doesn't help that Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani are the only consistent performers. Everyone else is a toss-up on a nightly basis. I would guess that there have been only 1 or 2 losses where Jay's decisions cost us the game.

Judge him at the end of the season.

Dont you guys feel though...

Coaches get to much heat when the team is not performing

And barley any credit when the teams doing great?

It's not balanced at all... not even close

Dude, great thread.

+1

Edit: To be clear, I support the thread because I see Jay making improvements over the passed little while. I think some users made fair criticisms in the past. Not all criticisms of Jay have been pure hate. A few of them were valid, and highlighted genuine problems within the team's schemes.

It'll take alot more then us squeeking out a win against the shitty bucks to make me a Trianio fan. And i agree about the lack of Zone all season. But here's hoping he uses it more the rest of the season, especially sunday!

What bothers me the most about him is he's too nice of a guy. His set plays are perhaps the best among coaches in the NBA, but from a psychological stand point he is lacking. A head coach's main job is to inspire and in some ways put fear in his players minds so they go all out every game. Look at Milwauke on defence they were putting so much energy on the defensive end and they were executing their game plan. Their team doesnt even have half the supposed talent that Toronto has and look how they were doing. That is the coach factor.

There are only a few coaches league wide who do not get ragged on by their fanbase consistently...Even then, every coach still get ragged on, but guys like Phil and Pop are easier to forgive.

Seriously though, Triano hasn't proven shit. So what do people expect, the team has been up and down and he's a rookie coach. It is was it is.

Well, he's improving lately. I am with you about him having a good mind for the Xs and Os of the game. I sometimes question his analytical skills (as seen by his prior lack of flexibility) and social skills, though. It took him a long time to figure out that the Jose and JJ combo should not be something used every game, but rather only when the matchups fit, or particular game circumstances call for it. He's a bit of stubborn guy, in that respect. He's getting better, though. The way he handled Belli the past couple of games shows that he might be getting better at dealing with players. Let's just hope he keeps growing as a coach.

Triano is no trophy coach, dont get it twisted. I don't think he's good enough, but it's not up to us right.
