Meh... not sure I buy that.

Lawrence Frank... D'Antoni... Mike Brown... Rick Adelman... Byron Scott... Scott Skiles.. Avery Johnson... all of these guys were fired from teams and found new jobs shortly thereafter.

If Mitchell hasn't been hired again at this point there's probably a reason why.

Jose should just stay on the bench, Bayless and Forbes can run the offense.

He's not. He has his own radio show and a gig on NBATV
. He's been a finalist for a couple HC jobs including in Minnesota a couple years ago and was an assistant in NJ last season.

What is wrong with the fans of the Raptors ? Jose is the best we got at the pg position...now why can the entire league see that.... Jose is considered by many coaches as a top tier NBA pg why all the interest in Jose at the trade deadline and zero for Bayless ??? Its actually a disgrace to the fan base to read all the bull shit about our top players. Why would a top player want to come to Toronto anyway its seems many just don't understand the game.

Calderon is definitely NOT a top tier PG.

PG's better than Calderon:

-D Rose
-Chris Paul
-D Will
-Westbrook
-Nash
-Tony Parker
-Kyrie Irving
-Rondo
-John Wall
-Steph Curry
-Kyle Lowry
-Ty Lawson
-Devin Harris
-Brandon Jennings

Yeah about right. Although i think he's better than Devin Harris....Bayless is probably better than Harris to be honest. Last year Jose was ranked 20th in the NBA as a starter (ESPN i believe). This season i'd say he's moved up a bit, maybe 15-16th. Calderon when going well is a top 15 middle of the pack PG. Too bad that over the past 3 seasons he hasn't been going well most of the time.

I am not at all sure Jose is worse than Lawson, Harris or Jennings, which would make him #12 on the list. I doubt any starter we have this year would rank this high at his position, except for Bargs.

I would take Jennings and Lawson ahead of him.

Raptors

Yeah this team really has to start Starting Bayless and have Calderon come off the bench or amnestied at some point. This team is starting to look real real good:

PG:Bayless
SG: Derozan
SF:Johnson
PF:Bargnani
CF:Gray

That's the unit that should be playing for the rest of the season, with Calderon, Forbes, Kleiza, Davis, Amir as the second unit/rotation. James Johnson is starting to turn into a real NBA starter. With Val at C next season and beyond, and Kidd-Gilchrist potentially, and a Free agent -> I'm loving the Raptors for the next 7-9 years.

Calderon who is 31 years old, and not in our future plans? Calderon who is in 4th in assists because he holds the rock until theres 4 seconds left on the clock and makes the safest pass possible? you realize nash and all them have higher turnover rations because they take chances, good good chances, and they win. they make sweet passes, at the right time. Bayless as a starter brings about 6+more ppg than calderon, and also was learning to be a passer quite well. He is also a top PG defender, whereas Calderon is the worst pg defender in the history of the nba possibly.

And i meant from next year until 9 years later, not in 7 or 9 years :P

There were so many stupidly wrong things with this post, it really made my skin crawl. I really, just really don't understand how you, a canadian, can be so ignorant. In your mind, are all great pg black outside of nash and kidd? jeez..

No I dont realize they take "good good chances, and they win and make sweet passes at the right time"

Anyway...I'd rather have more assists and a lower assist then turnover ration then 6ppg from the 1 spot.

Turnovers lead to points against, assists lead to points for ... what would you like?

i went too far with mine too.

i have no problem with dudes arguing vociferously, but we can't be calling people stupid and questioning their nationality. my point was meant to simply say "make the argument rather than just insulting the dude."
