The good thing about Weems & Derozan is that they can complent each other. There is already a chemistry between both players on the court, but Weems is the better defender. Weems can guard the scoring wing on the other team, while preserving Derozan to make more plays on the offensive end.

i like them both, i think they complement eachother and that chemistry they have is something you don't want go away from your team especially if you think amir can complet this two.

let's them growing up before judge them. don't brake something who can be huge in the futur.

Like I've said before, Weems is a better version of Jamario Moon. A key word there is better, I don't want anyone to misconstrue my words. DeMar at 20 showed the ability to be a very good player in this league and has a greater ceiling already. Right now, it wouldn't even be close who I'd take. DD over Weems.
"A few good games"? Weems started off the season slow... but after the first 15-20 games or so he played VERY well for the rest of the year. So well that he eventually took the starting job from DD.

I think that you've got it backwards C.... SONNY actually played better D (which was why he actually became one of our two main defensive stoppers along with Wright last season) and showed a more natural feel for the game.

That being said, DD def. has some potential.

I hope that both of them stay with us TBH.

Why all the love for DD?

Because the kid's got some serious hops!!!

Weems is the more well rounded player at this point of their careers but DeRozan is definitely more exciting to watch...

right now I see a more composed DD and Sonny forcing some shots
their defense, as of now, is on the same level

And you're basing this on summer league?

Let's play some real games and see how things shape up.

+10000 Last season Weems was quite a bit better then DD on defense, and summer league won't change my view on that. Let's see what happens come November.

DeRozan was weak last year
maybe we can compare Weems' performance on D to DeRozan when he turns 23

No way, IMO, either one of DD/Sonny or Amir should start at SF. As the roster is constituted at the moment, Kleiza is absolutely the starter at that position, both ends of the floor. Neither DD nor Sonny are naturally suited to play SF - they are too short and too light for that and so should only be used off the bench at the position. And Amir, pure and simple, is not and never will be a wing player. Bagnani will be our starting SF before Amir.

well weems is the better player out of the two at this moment, but you can see by Demar's body language and how he's improved that he has more potential than weems. I can see Weems as more of a chucker, if he were to calm down and be under control then Weems>Demar easy but Demar showed in the summer league games that he takes smarter choices on the court

They are both likable young men with a lot of athleticism who need to develop their game - become stronger, smarter, improve their handles and defence and so on.

They are friends, they seem to thrive playing off one another - let's just give them some time to grow and enjoy the process, eh?

Demar worked out greeat, but not how everyone expected.
His work ethic is great, becoming deadly midrange shooter in one offseason.
But FTA and defense took a hit imo.

Need a coaching change to puthim back on track.
