Question Who's our 4th quarter guy?

I've been thinking about this for a while. Obviously, Turkoglu didn't do his job last year. Chris Bosh hit some game-winners for us, but he's gone. So to win the game, who would you give the ball to (assuming no other move is made from here on)?

IMO, I would have Jack take it. He's a versatile player at the point, since he can score from the outside and inside. He shown several times that he could finish in traffic and hit the circus shots. Also, there were several games last season when he stepped up big the the fourth quarter.

There isn't a #1 guy right now, maybe there may be signs of one as the season progresses. But as of now... it'll either be jack, derozan or bargnani. I really don't want Bargnani to be the goto guy next season, he needs to stay a role player.

Your the man, i completely agree with your assesment of Jack as the closer because he can score in so many ways. I think he will have a big season closing out final possesions this year.

It would have to be bargs, honestly last year he did very well in the fourth quarter but then the ball was handed over to bosh. The only problem is Bargs can go through some pretty big droughts, but thats the reason he's inconsitent, hopefully he can shake that off next season.

We honestly don't have a guy like that. It will have to be a team effort overall.

I remember a game Vs. the Cavs they had to put Lebron on JJ because he was just killing them in the 4th. I think he'll be able to do something like that again.

Please.

I can't think of anything worse.

Does everyone not realize Jack is only a back-up caliber PG on a good team???

The point of next season is to develop the players with the most amount of growth potential so that we become better in the following seasons, thus the need to provide someone like DD with the ball in these situations....so he can practice.

It is not the point of next season to overextend JJ, so that he develops into another Mike James.

You can't think of anyone worse? Jack is probably the second-best player on this team right now, after Bargnani. Last year DeRozan didn't even get to play in the fourth quarter. He needs to build up more experience before he has the ability and mentality to take those closing shots, because he didn't do it in college either. So like you said, give DeRozan some "practice" time in the 4Q, but give Jarrett the ball to win the game.

i was watching game in hour, Charlotte at Toronto, can down to the final 40 seconds Bosh post up and quicks out to andrea and he hits the dagger 3 which was probably one of the top ten moments all season considering how intense that game was, andrea truly has ice water in his veins thats one thing people cant take away from him,

on the poll i said Andrea but Andrea and Jack are 1a and 1b, actually last year I like these two guys over Bosh and Turk taking the final shot of the game, I guess we had some good clutch shooting last year, people forget we did win 40 games, I hate when people say we had the worst defense in the history of the nba but we still managed to win 40 games, to win that many games you still have to play some to win

can't believe people put down Demar Derozan, the guy is young we don't want to ruin his confidence, he has to at least double his scoring before we give him that chance, we need to keep his confidence up, I would rather have Sonny take the final shot over Derozan just because you know Sonny will bounce back better from that situation, Demar is still young remember people Demar had a horrible rookie season, even though he made major strides in summer league he still has to convert that into the NBA, he has to prove that first before he starts taking the big shots of hte game

If Calderon is still around when the season begins, I would not be surprised to see the ball in his hands.

It should be Bargnani but we will end up going to Jack because his will to win is above all others. I've seen Jack hit big three's in late game situation last season. Also, when we were down he would always fight back by driving to the basket.

Jarett this past season took over in 4th quarters at times. I remember a game (not sure vs who) when he went off for 14pts in the 4th and carried us to the win. He did some of that all season here and there. But i believe it'll be different every game, Barbosa, Kleiza, Derozan, Bargnani, Weems can all score and when Beli is on he can be the guy once in awhile. And if Calderon is still here then we all know he can shoot the ball and with Bosh gone hopefully he's a little more inclined to shoot.

I agree with you and I think you will see something like this as the 5 players.
Barbosa, DD, Weems, Bargs & Amir.

The basic reason is speed and athletic ability that line-up in the last 5 or 6 minutes will give most teams in the NBA fits to defend. All can run the floor and defend.
