Once and for all, you guys do realize there is absolutely no team out there that's going to give anything of value up for an 8 million dollar point guard who's one play gone wrong from either being out for 20 games or even worse never playing again.

u guys are jokes.

TJ has no trade value right now.....i think his condition will throw alot of teams off from wanting to take a chance on him...he isnt going anywhere anytime soon unless some dumb GM wants him...hmmm i wonder is phoenix would trade for him lol.

Im friends with many hardcore Hawks fans and they want Jose not TJ not to say the GM thinks the same.. The hawks arent parting with Smith, Johnson or Horford (good ol dominican boy, w00t, who btw is 10x better then Moon), so i dont really know what we could of equal value anyways.

If the raps ever felt TJ was going to remain healthy, Jose could net us a very valueable player, his stock is definately worth more then TJs, but you can end up seriously regretting this in the future (jose is my fav player btw).

I think best case is TJ remains healthy for the rest of the year and really tears it up and ups his value, then we can move him in the offseason for possibily a disgruntled bigman, RFA etc etc etc...

I think Keeping them both is a better idea.

I dont mind keeping them both if they can both play at the same time, but if Jose is going to get 7-10 mil a year type numbers next year (pretty likely i think), can we really afford a backup PG in the 8mil a year range?

Yeah, eventually one of them is gonna have to go. I really cant see one of them being happy longterm as the backup, same minutes or not. I think eventually one of them(likely Jose since TJ's value isnt close to his right now) will be traded for that bigtime SF we need, and then BC will go out and get a good backup PG through trade or free agency for the MLE after that.

Has a team ever had 2 top 10 PG's on their team where one was a backup for the other for more than a year? Anyone a bball history junky?

The Knicks had Earl Monroe and Walt Frazier in the backcoourt in the early 70's. All they did was win two championships.

I cont any chance Bc trading Calde.

Situation:
We trade calde, next day Tj gets another neck injury thats ends his career, we go from the best point guard duo, to the worst PG position in the league.

Well I would add Kapono in the package deal with TJ. If Kaponi wins the 3 pt shooting contest it will raise his stock. TJ looks good right now however hes getting alot of garbage time. In 2 blow outs TJ is looking good, first the heat then the wolves.

The thing with our situation is that we have a young team that relies on the two starting-calibre point guards to carry them through the marathon of a season. If we suddenly saw an influx of veteran experience and players who provide consistent results regardless of who they are on the floor with, then this thread might make some sense. As it stands it's just a means of making the team more of a middle-of-the-pack team, with less room to improve from within and rise closer to elite status. But then, I'm just a fence-sitter, not to mention about a million other names that Benzo would like to throw my way.

John Lucas said it very well - that it was not going to be easy for TJ to accept that he cannot assume his old role right away, and may never, that it would not be easy for any player, but that he has no choice but to be patient and keep working and accept the importance of the role he does have. TJ does listen to Lucas, so I would suggest that there is no problem, and actually just a great strength for a young team to rely on.

I don't know why you can't keep um both.

With an over lap of 6 mins playing Jose at 2, you can easily put 30 mins to both of them, keeping um both fresh, and both effective, and keeping a very VERY good Pg on the floor at all times. So what if you pay them both, it just means you have two top players. You aint making it far without that. What are you going to do? Go out and get an 8 million dollar guy for anothe rposition and then go with one of these two and some piece of shit back up?

Screw that.

I think you can keep um both, and to be competely honest, if something HAS to break, it had better be Tj's ego, because if he doesn't see the scenario for what it is, then he's just dillusional. No team can gamble on him now, none. He's always a step away from setting a team back 3 years.

By all means.

Please do enlighten, as you two are CLEARLY the expert Messageboardsters of the day.

I wasn't aware that I wasn't up to "Basketball fan" snuff.

Damn, and all my years watching and PLAYING had me convinced.

But yes, please, please do enlighten.

Before you throw more of a hissy fit and get your pink panties in a bunch..read the whole thread and see where lang's comment fell that i quoted... as I can read you had no posts up to that point, so you can exclude yourself from the kidding around that ensued. Coolio? Why so defensive? YOu really care what some anoymous internet posters think of you anyways? :baby:
