Default Who would you rather!

Given the opportunity to trade Bargnani and Anderson in a package deal would you rather pick up Josh Smith, Pau Gasol or Amare Stoudemire! dont hate on the other players just explain why you chose your choice

Well if I have to choose one it'd be Smith. But in reality that's not enough to get any of those 3...

Nobody wants garbage bench players worth no more then 10-15 minutes a game (bargs can play a few more than that) for upper tier PFs, with the exception of Amare due to his major injury problems. But I really DO NOT ever want Amare on this team.

Btw I understand what you're getting at, just the "package" is complete shit.

Bargs is having his worst season ever.... it does not mean he is a bad player, if he was still injured from that time last years you guys would be calling him the messiah, pau is at an all time low aswell so that is quite tradeable

Amare has been injured constantly and they have started to bring him from the bench, he wants a trade apparently.

Josh Smith has come out and said he wants a trade...

You guys throw around the word scrub to easily or garbage players

Anderson is probably top 10 value for money players in the league
Bargnani is an elite scorer with good 1v1 defense who with rebounding and a bit more effort would be a top 10 PF
Fields had one of the best rookie season in 2010 and now he has been labeled a scrub due to his injuries and fitting into a new team

Together i think they can easily net a tier 2-3 PF

Bargs has been garbage since his 13 game stretch last year, where the its the only real time he's been "elite" Stop overrating someone whos main feature is to hit a 3, and hasn't even been able to do that with any consistency. Also the biggest slouch and un-motivated person I've ever seen. Look where all his amazing skills got us... Theres no chance in hell I'd ever call him a messiah.

Not to say he doesn't have talent, because he does, but hes to much of a lazy-ass to ever bother trying.

Anderson is a chucker, whos only looking ok due to the amount of time he gets to play her, that's it. Hes got a good contract though, so its a little better for him.

Fields is below average at everything but rebounding.

Sorry but I'm anyone outside of the Knicks (as I already agreed with you about Amare) that I laugh at that offer and only even consider it if nothing at all comes along. Even if I'm the knicks I still likely wouldn't do it. They hit enough 3's Bargs adds nothing to that team.

The Atlanta situation will not happen. I know I should say "in my opinion", but there is so much evidence that taking Bargnani is not something the Hawks would even think about doing. At least not with Bargnani being the centerpiece of the package. Maybe he goes just to make the salary work, but the Hawks would be looking to add Ross and/or JV and something else to the deal.

No way Atlanta takes back Bargnani as the main piece of a Josh Smith deal. Danny Ferry, the Hawks GM, has been taking the fiscally responsible route lately, and would almost certainly rather have Smith walk than take back Bargnani. With the $11 mill that Bargs would cost next year, the Hawks could instead put that towards going after Millsap, Al Jefferson, Pekovic, O.J. Mayo, or greesing the wheels of a trade that nets them Dwight Howard, who the Hawks are rumoured to be taking a run at.

agree with Bill. you don't get player like Smith for a bunch of bench players.
Perhaps we should not be dealing at all if nothing valuable comes out of trading Bargs.

I voted Gasol btw. I just like him.

So easy, Gasol, he is a winner, has rings, and isn't a dickface like the other two. This shouldnt be a debate...well to me at least.

yeah, i agree. i'm not a big fan of gasol, but between a guy whom can play only half a season every year and a guy whom will ask for the same money as gasol without the same result... bouh...

i voted gasol too (par defaut) !

i like Amare for this team. Unlike D'Antoni,he'll learn the importance of defense in Casey's system. On offense he runs the floor, has a decent inside game and can make the mid range jumper consistently. His contract expires the same time as Gay,Fields and Bargnani, but if possible trade the last two names i mentioned plus Anderson for Stoudemire.

As bad as Pau's contract is, Stoudemire's is an absolute albatross. Also Amar'e is an even bigger shell of himself than Pau is. I don't want Pau here myself but if there aren't any to her choices and we're unlikely to sign a FA then I'd still prefer him. Maybe Jose would be willing come back for a cheap 8 mil/2 year contract with Pau here.

Lowry/Jose
DeRozan/Ross
Gay/Anderson
Amir/Acy
Gasol/JV

I'd say that team could absolutely get to the conference finals and is at least a lock for the 2nd round.

i think Toronto could steal away Cousins....it may have to come at the expense of Valanciunas some how,but they could use a big like him. Such a damn nuisance though lol.

I think the most popular suggestion right now regarding the Hawks is getting the Lakers in on the action. Bargnani and DeRozan to LAL, Pau or Dwight to ATL (depending on the Lakers' desperation), extend and traded Smith to TOR.

please don't make a difficult trade to get a headcase at PF.

you don't send a top 10 sg + a top 20 PF to get a top 15 PF. that doesn't make sense to me.

I wonder if we land another big name, will Lowry and Gay resign with us? Gay wanted out from Memphis, because he wanted some fame and bigger role, if he wanted a big 3 he'd have stayed there. If we trade for any of the PFs mentioned in this thread we'll have a big 3 too, but for how long?
We have all tools to win NBA with the roster we have, if Only Bargnani could be unselfish and do what team needs him to do.
Anywho, Smith > Gasol > Amare, just because he's immune to injuries and is younger, almost a triple double guy, but with horrible percentages. And if we need to give Lowry DD Gay Ross JV then it's a no deal

I dont think we can land any of those guys without giving more than that. But I would take Gasol. Smith will want max next, so he wouldnt be here long anyways. Stoudamire wouldnt be too good without a great passing PG (would have fit in better with Calderon, but even then I dont think he would have been great fit). Pau, while having a big contract would be better fit I think.
