Who will be left?

The Raptors currently have a 12 man roster and are going to be looking to round off the roster at 13.On Doug Smiths blog today someone asked who our next swingman was going to be? He basically said that their last pick up will most likely be a swingman but that he doesn't know who and neither do the Raptors. They are apparently waiting to see who is left at the end of the month and go from there to see who will be in the mix with Parker,Kapono,Moon,Graham and Adams.

Who could still be out there in 2-3 weeks?I thaught they would try to get another PG?

Snooch 07-11-2008 12:57 PM

I think they will go for a combo player like Eddie House or take on another flier like Sean Banks. AP Could run the point, if needed, on offense with Adams guarding the point on defense

In my opinion, the 13th spot could use some Boom Tho-ness.

I mean, whoever it is won't make an impact on the court anyway. Why not sign a guaranteed fan favorite?

Rod Benson >>>>>>> Maceo Baston...so why not?

Snooch 07-11-2008 01:03 PM

^^agreed I just think that Banks could be a good player(led the DLeague in points) where as what has benson done?

Seriously, what has Benson done-I have no idea?

Led the D-League in rebounding.

Led the D-League in blogging.

Led the D-League in movements started.

Led the D-League in music videos.

The list goes on :haha:

I think it'll definitely be someone who has some handles with the ball. If Jose or Ukic go down with an injury, who comes in to help? We don't have a Delfino anymore and I can't see any of the other remaining options coming in to fill in at the point if needed. :(

So, like Snoochie said, I could see an Eddie House or a player like him being the last one added to the roster.

Well, yes, I am :haha:...but that post was semi-serious.

The guys blog is hilarious.

And he rebounds the hell out of the basketball.

He could very likely see an NBA roster spot this year. If not, he says he's going to Europe.

I mean...he's on our summer league roster. So while my reasoning isn't 100% basketball related, I am totally serious. I would LOVE to see him in a Raps uniform.

Well in that case ..... 5 Years $40 million sees to be fair, eh? ;)

Just joshin' ya Swag .... Benson sounds like a nice addition, but I think a third PG or someone who has the ability to play the point just incase is more realistic (not to mention important) than adding another big man. JMO. :)

5 years $40 million would be a steal if the team could get a cut of Boom Tho merchandise sales!

3rd string point guards are a dime a dozen. Remember Omar Cook? Andre Barrett?
Those guys are available all year.

The Rod Benson sale is limited time only!

How do you know I'm not the man himself? :haha:

Because that would be sad if he had to come to a random Raptors message board to sell himself. :hahaha:

It would be cool, but truly sad though. ;)

I was just taking a look at the Free Agents for this year and one player who surprisingly is still available is Sebastian Telfair. I've always been a fan of him. He's young, quick, great ball-handling skills, and a skillful player who put up some great numbers last year backing up Foye for Minnesota.

Gurk 07-11-2008 07:47 PM

IMO I think he is another TJ Ford type of player that always wants to start.

LX 07-11-2008 08:43 PM

Sam mentioned at the press conference that they are holding open a spot for a combo guard.

Boom-Tho please!:giggity::giggity::giggity:
Also maybe, why not bring back MIKE JAMES!! :D

The end of the bench is going to be made up of a couple of the guys who came in for the free agent camp. A bunch of no-names at the pro level, guys who can fill roles and who have room to grow.

But if is such a TJ-type of player he would be either starting for the T-Wolves (which clearly won't happen seeing as Foye is a much better PG) or he'd be traded last year.
