Who should we trade?

Our starters right now are Chris Bosh, Jose Calderon, Jermaine O'Neal, Jamario Moon, Anthony Parker. After that, we have Andrea Bargnani, Will Solomon, Roko Ukic, Jason Kapono, Joey Graham, Kris Humphries, Jake Voskuhl, Nathan Jawai. Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon and Andrea Bargnani are not options at this point and neither is Nathan I suspect. so, who do we deal?

Okay everyone, let's hear what you truly believe this team needs to do to move someone and make us better.

Nice thread. ;)

Easily JO and depending on the deal suitable fillers.

For example if the deal is with Chicago then JO, Kaps and Joey for Gooden, Hughes and Nocioni. Nocionis deal isnt as bad with Kaps gone, gooden is a backup big who is an expiring, Noccioni is the tough wing player who defends, Hughes is a solid wing defender either starting at the 2 or coming off the bench, big expiring in 2010.

O'Neal, Kapono, AP and Hump. Why is Hump not playing anyway?

Solomon, Moon and Voskuhl all have 1 year left and they don't cost much so I say keep 'em

i like the sound of all of those pieces... we would be a better team and maybe we wouldn't give up so many damned leads down the stretch....

nice thread?

this thread is redundant.

Dr. J. Naismith 01-15-2009 01:09 PM

I added AP to your poll takman because I think come deadline time Parker won't be a Raptor. :(

OT: How can I change the colour of my font?

insight_tor 01-15-2009 01:10 PM

Trade JO as he is the one who can bring the balance to the Force (Raptors). Even though he is a very good player, his salary doesn't allow BC to bring the rest of pieces to became a better team. Any other trade will not make any impact on current Raptors situation. Also, I would say "trade JO" only if is a good deal, bringing here some bad contracts just to get rid of JO is a very bad idea (aka Davis and JYD for Rose and Marshall).

takman_777 01-15-2009 01:25 PM

thanks, i knew i forgot someone not named Jose

Agreed.

Not only that it's laden with assumptions and you know what they say about people that assume :D

I don't understand why trading Calderon is not an option to trade. He's a good player with an acceptable price tag. Seems to me he's one of our few attract players other teams would actually want ;) :D

eYe-KaY 01-15-2009 02:42 PM

If I'm BC, I better be getting Chris Paul if I decide to trade my golden point guard. What people fail to see in Calderon's game, is that he's one of the few (and i mean FEW) players in the league who doesn't give a crap about stats. He plays the game to win, he loves his teammates, and most importantly, does NOT LOOK FOR SHOTS. What is a point guard supposed to do? Make players around him better. Solomon is a natural shooting guard, and will never, ever, ever, be a good enough point guard to start for ANY NBA team, or atleast SHOULDN'T START. Roko is a solid young player, who has a lot of potential, i really like his game. Bottom line, Jose plays a hugee role in the future of this franchise, and I'm not talking about a negative roll. The only pg in the league that can have a 4 point type performance and still be a key contributer to a win for his team. Not only do I love his game, but I put all trust in Jose's hands (the ball) in any situation, because I know that 9/10 times he's NOT gonna F*ck up. The only players that shouldn't be considered for a trade are Bargs, Colderon, and Roko, given that those are the 3 guys that will only get better, ALOT better. And before you bash my thread know that I WOULD trade any of these guys for an opprotunity to make the Raptors a better team, but I would not risk them for any players will equal talent ( KEY WORD IS POTENTIAL ). You can get a very good player for Chris Bosh, or 2 Good players, and if you ask me, thats less of a risk than trading any of these 3 guys. Bosh is a fluke. Bash me now, but a guy like bosh is only good because of his work-ethic, and will never make the same impact in this league as a Kobe Bryant, or Steve nash in the past. EVER. Im not saying he's a bad player, just not BORN with NATURAL ability to be a superstar.

eYe-KaY 01-15-2009 02:44 PM

BTW all i did was repost my comment that i originally posted for "Should we Trade Jose or not " So dont ask why im even discussing Jose, I was simply too lazy to erase it, and find the 2nd half of the post to be relevant to this thread :). :reporter:

while i completely agree that we need new players here, i'm getting so tired about reading trades every two seconds. it isn't just here, it's the media as well. everyone is trigger happy - again, yes we need a trade, but how about a little concentration on the players who are preforming above their expectations. why not talk about how active moon was on defense yesterday or something. it was at least real instead of made up from hot air.
