Terrance Jones would be a good choice.

I'm not sold on Irving. We all saw what happened to hype in the case of Harrison Barnes. Kyrie's played about 8 games. He hasn't even faced any top competition at the college level.

Plus, we seriously need a small forward that can make more than six 3 pointers a season.

Irving.

Demar Derozan, Ed Davis, Amir Johnson (assuming nothing happens but more development) Bargnani, will become our core.

It would be nice to to upgrade SF, but at this point i think a good play making PG will push this young core further.

Calderon is not a good play maker, more like dribble up court, pass, that person scores... and he gets an assist. We need someone more like paul or rondo.. but thats a long shot

plus i think at this point caldy might be a hotter commodity than kleiza.

I don't get the lack of competition argument regarding Irving. This isn't a strong year for college basketball IMO, especially in the ACC. Ranked teams are faltering left and right. Sure, experience is nice, but it's not a make or break kind of deal.

The top 25 is so unsteady this year, so who cares if he hasn't played against teams that are still hanging around in the rankings, even though he posted big games versus K State and Michigan State, who at the time were both ranked in the top 10 I believe. These squads are the exemplar of the inconsistency, or parity, of college ball this year, and could just as easily beat any team ranked from 10-25 on any given night. Also, both teams happen to boast a PG as their premier player.

I kno he's only played 8 games but name someone other than jones whos better. And you mentioned the mixtape video of nba players so I had to clear that up if hes comparable to nba players highlights than that's a good thing isn't it? also just throwing this out there how many SOUTHPAWS are dominant players in the nba atm ? I have a feeling jones will not pan out to be a superstar basing it off that video that was posted on the other page, it doesn't look like he can create for himself other than that he looks like a good player

Sullinger. Every major sports publication is saying he is the best player of the NCAA. He would be a great fit for this team. If you have the ability to look beyond Amir. Who when paired with a C like Bargs doesn't win alot of games.

I just don't get what you all plan on doing if we drafted Sullinger... 3 PFs, all who would have a decent game... Move Ed to C? Naw...

Irving is the best prospect available. Those of you who think Bayless is the starting pg this team needs are dreaming. Irving is a fundamentally sound player and is the type of break you down off the dribble kind of guy that many teams don't have. He is the clear cut number 1. Perry Jones hasn't dominated at any level and his IQ is atrocious. He gets lost all the time on the defensive end.

Igoudala was on the board and Araujo fit a positional need. We ended up getting Araujo and where had that lead us?

WTF, the dude barely played any college ball so how can you say hes the best prospect available? Playing well in a mcdonald game doesn't mean you're a top prospect.

Because of his bballl instincts he put on display as well as his ability to use the dribble and make sound decisions. Some players you can tell who is ready for the nba and who is not. Irving looks ready for the nba.

maybe we should ask a pro what he thinks. how about seth davis, one of america's top ncaa basketball gurus?

Do I have any reservations if he doesn't play this year? Not even a little bit. He's that good. He'll still be a top three pick if he comes out. This is a point guards' league, it's not a centers' league anymore. He's a good athlete, not a great athlete, so he'll never be electric like John Wall or Derrick Rose, but Chris Paul is not electric in that way either.
NBA scouts offer opinions on Perry Jones, Jared Sullinger, others - Seth Davis - SI.com

Lebron James didn't play a single game of college ball but everyone knew he was going to be really good. Not saying they have the same talent level but some players you can tell if they are ready to ball.

Used the others in a trade to upgrade SF and/or PG.

You would be surprise. When Ed Davis was drafted a lot of people on here first reaction wasn't too great cause he was a big man. I loved the pick though and called for it 3months before the draft on here.

I'm not saying draft Sullinger. As I said he would be my 3rd choice on this team on the draft board.

WTF how can you compare Kyrie Irving to Lebron James? That comparison is just ridiculous. First of all.. this is LEBRON JAMES. Kyrie Irving is not Lebron James. You do realize Lebron had his high school games televised nationally.. when were Kyrie's high school games televised nationally? Yeah, never.
