Who Replaces Ford This Season As ......

..... team scapegoat? :confused2:

With T.J. gone and the one who fans were most critical about last season, who replaces him as the whipping boy? :(

Lots of criticism lately towards Moon and Humphries ... always been alot of criticism towards Andrea, Bosh and Sam at the same time. :(

So if not them, then who else might get some consideration? :confused2:

'trane 10-08-2008 03:37 PM

jeebus i hope it's joey. anyone else and we've got problems.

Snooch 10-08-2008 03:37 PM

Contrary to popular beleif I like Humphries a hella lot more that Joey so that is my new one.

Dr. J. Naismith 10-08-2008 03:41 PM

As valuable as he is to us, I think Bosh might take Ford's place this season. :crying:

Leo? I am hoping to see a whole new context with everything this team does. The little things that make us cringe just aren't going to mean as much. Unless they happen in the playoffs. That's where we might call for someone to be executed. And I still hope it will be Leo.

Gurk 10-08-2008 03:44 PM

I think it will be Moon, but hopefully no one on the team is

Ugo Ferst 10-08-2008 03:53 PM

Bustgagni for sure. I will be riding him like a 3 legged donkey all year and laugh ;)

Solomon

Since last years scapegoat was in my opinion Bargnani and he'll be better this season.I'm guessing Joey Graham w/honorable mention to Sam!

If Solomon can strengthen the perimeter defense and improve transition defense against speedy pg's, then I won't care if he thinks he's Arenas incarnate.

O'neal.

look at every raptors team review, or any basketball site's season preview.
they all have one thing in common....
"the raptors successes in 2009 lay on the shoulder's of JO".

if he's injured and plays 40 games; critics will call the trade a bust and be on his case.
if he plays like shit (or not up to the HIGH standards people are putting on him); critics and fans will be on his ass.
if the team has a shitty record - people will be on his ass because he was the guy who was supposed to come in and push us over the top.

he's the new guy, the big name... he will take the most flack if he doesnt contribute, if he gets injured, or if we dont do well.

i dont understand how some of you guys are choosing solomon or graham... those guys are low on the totem poll... graham probably wont even play... how the hell can he be a whipping boy for anything?
you cant put blame on a player that doesnt even play.
the blame always goes on the guy who's supposed to be the man... or has the most pressure on to succeed.

Sam Mitchell. Its been him for years, TJ just helped carry the weight.

If Bargs struggles at all it will be him.

If Jermaine struggles at all it will be him.

If they both struggle it will be Smitch.

If they both play well it will be Bosh, unless he's playing outstandingly.

If they're all playing well, there shouldn't be much of a need for a scapegoat.

My guess? Little bit of Bargs, little bit of Smitch. I voted for Bargs though.

I don't see how Joey can be the scapegoat. How are you going to blame anything on him? His towel waving would have to be decidedly sub par.

The MVP of West Hollywood 10-08-2008 09:05 PM

Joey won't play enough to get it

My unfortunate guess is that Calderon's numbers are more around 10/7, and we end up bitching him out

Hopefully though if we win 50 games or close to it, we won't have a whipping boy. The TJ hate only came when we started going down the toilet last year, looking for someone to blame.

Bargnani will always have the pressure of being a number one pick. Some people, even though it's foolish, will hold it against him at the slightest sign of a mistake.

Moon seems to on the media's bad list with all the negative publicity he's been getting recently (not sure why).

And Mitchell is always going to be criticized as long as he coaches - even if that criticism is unfounded.
