Who needs to stop chucking? Moon

Hate to say it, but Thorpe is right. Moon has no confidence in his offense in general. You can tell. I think if that's an area that he can focus on this summer, we'll hopefully see a more complete Jamario come next season. :)

Someone needs to tell him that he's open for a reason. His mechanics look really off, like a player who is throwing it up and hoping it falls.

I concur. But sometimes players love the three more than they love to slash. I'll never understand why.

Pretty sure they do it because they think it's unexpected, so they get an 'unguarded' shot. Unfortunately, it's what the D wants them to do...

I really think Moon can be a pretty completed player once he starts taking it to the rim. And besides, I dont think he is a bad shooter, not a great one, but he can shoot inside the three point line. Once he starts taking in to the rim, he will be a lot more confident wich will help his shooting.

His shot's not bad. His mechanics are a little weird, but he's got nice rotation on the ball.

But like everyone has said, he needs to take it to the hole and stop being so timid. He drove once against Miami and instead of cramming it down their throats he avoided contact and threw up an akward layup that missed.

i'd say moon as been at his best when the ball moves and he's moving like rip hamilton off the ball. that will give him the closeness he needs because guys will trail him around screens and he can use that momentum to beat guys off the dribble and explode.

I don't think he lacks confidence with anything except reading the defense, aside from the obvious shots that most defenses give him. It'll come. And I don't think he's such a chucker.

I always thought guys prefer to shoot vs to drive because they'd rather avoid physical contact, nobody likes a beating ... :)

I agree he has to stop chucking... I also think alot of ppl are expecting too much improvement in his game at 27 years old... i mean i think he will be a solid nba player, but by no means a great one, or a great scorer.

Jamario needs to check his memos. There's an important message in there for him.

Superjudge 02-08-2008 08:35 AM

I disagree, what he needs is a summertime full of 3000 three's and 2000 pull up 15 footers a day. He can take it to the hole anytime however he can't when they play off him, in order to become complete he needs to improve that shot. ANY player in the NBA can do it, it's just whether or not they choose to put in the work.

You know, he doesn't take THAT many shots. Thorpe should shut the hell up if ua ask me.

moremilk 02-08-2008 12:42 PM

and people are playing off him because of his shot. Sometimes they treat him like a big man, and leave him wide open - once he starts shooting better, penetration will come too.

once he starts shooting better, penetration will come too.

Man that reads DIRTY!

Looks like it ended up in Thorpe's inbox.
