who gets credit good or bad

if the team does well MU gets credit if they do bad BC gets the blame for assembling the current roster considering the core pieces are from bc

everyone know the core pieces are important and the bench can be replaced

bc actually wanted to trade bargs he finally gave up so the trade mu made could realistically be pulled off by bc

all the main pieces were brought in by bc, ross, Jonas, derozan, amir etc.....

I think at the end of the year MU will get the blame for not choosing the tank.
Our ceiling right now is a first round playoff exit and that is simply not enough for most Raps fans...

For once we agree.

Well said.

However, I still think he has the option to tank especially if the team does not do well in the first 1-2 months.

For the record, by "most fans" I didn't mean myself, I'm still perfectly fine with a first round exit and remain anti-tank. The good preseason play has only strengthened my belief in this core.

Sorry guys! :cookie:

Good pre-season play? Really? Despite a 4-1 record we've looked pretty bad imo. Thankfully we've played Boston twice. And yeah, i'd take a 1st round exit over tanking.

My bad, I only watched one of the Celtics games and we looked pretty solid in that one. ;)

Anyway, if we struggle during the first weeks of the reg. season MU has my blessing to start the tank.

Also, preseason ≠ regular season. I want to see how the squad does in games that actually, you know, matter. Also, didn't the raps beat PHX by like 50 points in a pre-season game for the 11 or 12 season :haha:

I agree. 4-1 means nothing. We looked bad overall, and at the same time I really don't want us to tank.

ZanTheMan 10-18-2013 10:56 AM

Of course it's not the same but I wouldn't say we're the only team out there that cares about their record. Every team approaches preseason with the same motives: a mixture of trying to win games and find minutes for your youngsters/bench.

And btw I would prefer to start the reg. season with a 8-0 preseason record over a 0-8 record. So I don't buy into the notion that it means nothing... :)

Go I hope they play well enough to ram every single one of these kinds of posts back down peoples throats.

If people want them to suck so bad and lose very game so they are unwatchable, just stop watching now for 2 years then come back when they are better.

moremilk 10-18-2013 01:21 PM

not that there's any chance of it happening, but if we're very good this season, 50+ wins, it should absolutely be BC's credit (at least 95% of the credit).

the problem is, this team projects to be at best a .500 team, and in that case you can't give any credit to somebody building a .500 team by spending to the tax level.

i have been really, really tempted to do that over the past few years. i have wasted so many hours watching shit basketball, with no light at the end of the tunnel. it is time to do something about this franchise, because this resting place between shit and mediocrity ain't cutting it no more.

I have done this for a few seasons now and it's great. I recommend it to everyone! In fact making the switch to casual viewer has been good for other aspects of my life.

I've always had the attitude that i flat out refuse to watch meaningless games.

rapsmannn 10-18-2013 02:26 PM

I kind of wish MU pulled the trigger and started tanking immediately, meaning trading rudy at the draft, even demar and starting over

i'm not sure if rudy gay and demar derozan is worth an opportunity on drafting wiggins and parker, even if we miss we still get a allstar player in the future which we don't have at the moment

LOG 10-18-2013 02:35 PM

I have an idea, lets trade gay for Calderon/Ed Davis and Derozan for Bargnani!:leo:

Hmm, just like I had to deal with unrealistic or extremely bias posts.

A proper rebuild was never done. Horrid to crappy contracts were never taken on for draft picks. People don't want them to suck that bad. People want the team to not be limited to a ceiling with little flexibility for moves, etc.

This deserves a bigger head shake from that guy from the wire. You can't trade RG at the draft. RG has a PO for next year. If RG is dealt it's at/before the deadline.

Thank you. Someone who gets it.

And before your post receives an idiotic response of "who cares, it's not our money", or something like "spend over the cap". It's not that simple. There is a cap and tax system in the NBA. This isn't like soccer in Europe or the MLB. There are loopholes and exceptions which separates it from the NHL though.
