Default Where were you during VC'S dunk contest?

With the fourth raptor making his way into the all star weekend competition, I thought I'd ask what were you during the greatest moment in franchise history? I missed it because I was in a different country and was into different sports.
A: Working a nighttime job
B: Sleeping becuase I was too young
C: I watching something else because I'm partially retarded
D: Seeing VC create the best dunks in history.
E: I was as far away from a TV as possible

Lets see, year 2000. I was like 6 or 7, and had no interest in basketball. Probably asleep.

D, although I just did it in my pants, not in a bucket. It was an exciting dunk contest that year.

It was the Dunk Contest that ended it. I have always said this: VC killed the Dunk Contest.
He set the standard up so high, that nobody has been able to reach it which has made it lackluster in the past 10 years

MJ's dunks were better imo. When I watched him I could swear he was just going to fly off during some of the dunks.

i disagree.

nobody was so strong in creativity, height, fluid movements, and power in throwin' it down like Vince was. For those 3-4 years, Vince was pretty much the best dunker ever.

Jordan had the hang time, but that was it (IMO).

I think Dominique was a better dunker than Jordan actually.

numbers 6-1 were awesome. Bird gets abused pretty mightily in one of them

I'm with Fancy Nique was a much better dunker than MJ. Their is a reason he was the human highlight reel.

A dunker does have a really short shelf life. When MJ came back from "playing baseball" his legs weren't the say and he was mostly a fade shooter but he has that mystique to him.

Carter was a great dunker but if he had a better track record as a basketball player their would be no debate who was the best dunker of all time.

I was watching the dunk contest and losing my mind at how awesome the dunks were. J Rich did well just a couple years later, but all of VC's dunks were incredible and it stands out as the best dunk contest performance in my mind.

VC revived and killed the dunk contest at the same time.

So very true

I haven't been able to enjoy a Slam Dunk Competition since, because I expect to see a Vince Carter every time out.

I was 11 and I tried doing those dunks in my living room after the contest. I started watching basketball when I was about 7 or 8 after playing NBA Jam on the Sega Genesis.

Greatest Dunker in NBA history. I almost cried at the end of it.

Not to mention McGrady bounced the one pass. A young Carter and McGrady on the raps still makes me sad.
