Default Where to from here?

Well, after watching the latest "effort" from the Raps, I don't know whether to laugh or cry! I've gone from Disappointment, to Frustration, to Anger, to Acceptance...I accept that the Raps are "just not that good". We were humiliated by a "500" club tonight w/ the same old, same old. Man, what's next? Little effort...little heart...no defence...poor offence...soooo, it is with optimism that BC, et al will do SOMETHING for the next version of this franchise. Europe is NOT the answer...we've tried that...I dunno'...I guess I'm in the same space as a Cub's fan...no hope...but, yet...hey, maybe next year?

Honestly, if we can MAGICALLY acquire an all-star level PG and SG we'll be okay.

Every team in the league shares those sentiments, other then the few that have those players.

I can't wait for the rumours to start flying in a couple months. Should be interesting. This summer will prove BC's worth imo. With the Draft/Bosh situation/Coach/FA's/AP-JG contract situations/Delfino?/Possible trades he will have his hands full and all Raptor fans will be anxious to see what will be done to right this ship. He's out of Mulligan's, and if he doesn't mostly make the right moves this summer (can't be perfect), especially with the draft, coaching situation and the probable Bosh trade, i'll lose my faith in BC.

This place will be buzzing, and i for one can't wait. Until then i'll watch the games mostly to watch Bargnani.

^ I don't know Jeff, I think this summer will be pretty quite. A few minor tweaks will be made to improve the roster, but I don't see a major deal like a Bosh trade going down. BC has too much love for him. The only way he gets traded is if Bosh says he wants out, which is highly unlikely, cause Bosh very mellow and doesn't like to bash anybody, any franchise, or any country for that matter.

I think Ap is gone. Defino is back (happy day for INSIDER! ). We draft a swingman, Bargs really starts to bloom, Jose will also probably stay because of BC's love and his massive 5 year contract. Maybe a couple scrubs from FA.

Some will be done, but nothing to drastic

I see Bosh being traded for a big and a wing player (possibly swaping picks in order for us to move up a few spots), AP gone, Marion gone, Delfino back, our draft pick will probably be a SG/SF. FA's will be signed to add toughness to the bench. But ultimately, BC's biggest decision will be who our next coach is.

This is probably reaching, but this won't be a quiet summer at all imo. BC does not have alot of patience and didn't make the JO move in order to just make minor tweaks this summer.

im waiting for the brilliant BC backup plan of his backup plan, see the beauty part of the marion trade was, if we improve and miraculously made a strong run or even made the playoffs, he is a genius, if we dont, it was an ingenius tanking move that freed up $$$. So next years back up maybe keeping Jay??? Bringing in a volitile yet talented piece like Artest?? Who knows, i just know this guy covers his ass and avoids blame like no man ive ever seen, all the while making boneheaded moves consistently and looking like he has no real clue wtf he wants to do. He should write a book about how to do this, im a believer!!!

let's not kid ourselves, this team is a worthless piece of nothing. The only two players I would keep from this team are andreea and joey, and only because they will most likely continue to improve, so would be stupid to trade them now. Everybody else, obviously have hit their ceiling and the only way for them is down. And I see 0 reasons to keep Bosh anymore. He is too weak to lead anybody to anything - people complained that Dirk was too soft, compared to Bosh, Dirk is the incredible Hulk ... All it takes is a block to drive him into submission, which in turn makes it completely abandon the idea of playing defense, or try to attack the basket ...

Bosh is one of the best PF's in the league
he has skills other PFs wish they had
SF and SF are bigger issues
Bargs developing as a C
Bosh at PF
healthy Caldy at PG
plus a SF and/or SG
stronger bench
can make some noise in the league

Where to from here? Easy. Draft, FAs, hire a new coach and some trades here and there.

Can't go anywhere but up. One thing I've noticed about Colangelo's teams in Phoenix is when they had a sub-par year, the next year they always rebound quite nicely.

The only way I see Bosh being moved is if Colangelo gets a half decent deal for him. Not a lot of teams are going to give up a lot of assets for Bosh, seeing as they can acquire him the following season without giving up pieces from their team. You know GMs in the league are going to lowball Colangelo.

Keeping in mind last year was a sub-par year as well.

I agree with you though, I don't think turning this team around is as hard as a lot of people here are making it out to be. Pick up a solid scorer from the two spot in the draft, sign a serviceable big (Bass or Zaza), drop Marion's contract and use it to sign (knock on wood) a Marvin Williams type, pick up a new coach, and throw in a couple minor tweaks.

Picking up Marion as an expiring was key - it allows us to get better quicker than we'd be able to if we were still stuck with JO's fat contract. I personally would RATHER see the Raptors use Marion's expiring on signing another player (or sign and trade), but I would not be opposed if he re-signed here either.

I don't really read into coaches too much, so I don't exactly have an educated opinion on who I'd like to see here. The idea of Messina being here seems kind of interesting. It'd definitely be a risk, but I'm feeling a big payout if it ends up working out. Bargnani would benefit too, which never hurts.

IMO Terrance Williams is better than Clark
Earl Clark might have more potential though
