Very true, if Bosh goes down Bargs automatically becomes our PF.

IMO the team would be most direly affected if CB4 went down for an extended period more so than anyone else.

Better then Evans or Johnson starting. What about Hedo playing the PF position if Bosh goes down?

Jose/Jack
Derozan/Belinelli/Jack
Wright/Turkoglu/Derozan
Turkoglu/Evans/Johnson
Bargs/Rasho/POB

I'd still hate to see Bargnani to get confused about his role. I thought the point being made was that it would be a blessing in disguise in that Bargnani could play his "natural" position. Perhaps there would be little choice, but I would like to see a few things tried out. Hedo's role would become bigger in my mind, whether it's at SF or PF. Whatever made him more effective would be my preference, and I would guess that Bargnani and him would already have things worked out to some degree in their current positions. Evans and Johnson would take on the role of grabbing the boards and trying to do what they could. In any case they would be looking to win ugly most of the time. I don't see how prettying things up with Andrea at the 4 does much to change to that inevitable outcome.

I like how we can switch our lineups to Defense or Offensive

Offense lineup:

Jose
belleneli/derozan
hedo
Bosh
Bargs

Defensive

Jack
Wright
Hedo
Bosh/Evans
Rasho

Hedo can play the 1, 2, 3, and to some extent 4. Can you imagine Hedo guarding Duncan, KG, or Stoudemire? That would be a nightmare.

That could be good for Bargs development though. Put the pressure on him to be the main scorer and maybe he'll play harder.

Not sure I agree about Turk being such a key loss. Kappy played that spot last year so Bel, Wright and DD are all upgrades on last season.

If Turk goes down I'd probably start... Jose, James, DD, Bosh, Bargs.

Not too concerned if one player goes down. More concerned about the 2nd guy out...

there's no team that wouldn't struggle so i dont think we should even have this discussion ....but the most hurtful loss would be hedo IMO because of the productin hes gonna bring (based on last years performance, it could go up or down but still) .... he makes people better but we will have to wait until the season starts to come to conclusions....

Well, i suppose if you're looking for moral victories you might see that as a positive...but I want REAL victories and losing Bosh hurts those chances more than losing any other player...period!

its Bosh without question
don't be fooled by the massive paychecks given to some of the others. nobody else on this roster brings half of what Bosh brings to the squad. andrea is real talented buts there's no H-U-S-T-L-E in bargnani, not one single letter. that must be why he stands there with a delayed 1 second reaction every time the ball goes off the rim or comes loose

besides the 2guard spot, Calderon is probably best case scenario to get injured out of the starters because he's handicapped defensively with those tree stump calf's that keep him firmly planted into the ground and unable to move laterally. last year not so much, but with jack here and that walrus with a handle on the wing, it might be nice to see Calderon on the injured list for a while.

The NBA should allow teams to change lineups on the fly like they do in hockey.

Bargnani with no hustle? That's a impression that is valid from the past, but he changed it for me to a large degree when he chased guys down the full length of the court to block their shots. It happened a few times last season. I believe it happened to Hedo. It also happened to some speedier guys that simply did not expect it. I think it's something that could be expanded on this season. His reaction to rebounds with his Italian team this summer seemed to actually be there. He looked like he was preparing to react as the ball went up, rather than waiting for the miss. It could be another step in the right direction for him. Here's hoping.

We want the same thing... Wins... I'm just thinking losing Bosh for 10-20 games and possibly getting a better more focused, more aggresive, more assertive Bargs for years to come makes the team better overall...

It might, but what if it also costs us a playoff berth. That would be devastating to this teams future, particularly if Bosh left.

I dont' disagree that Bargnani might benefit from an extended Bosh absence, but after seeing Barg's development last year with Bosh in the lineup...what do you really think is more important to the team this year? Winning games and trying to make a dent in the playoffs or accelerating Bargnani's developement?
