Yet we ended up with a first round pick a few years ago (and many people accuse the draft lottery of being rigged).

you shouldn't blame our team's shortcomings on the NBA.

Personally, I can't remember a time like that. Do you think every team's fans feel the same way? That they feel their team gets hosed by the league scheduling team every year?
Eastern conference teams have it way better than Western Conference ones who travel significantly more and for alot longer. Every team has to go through it so we can't really feel we are being sacrificed in some way. Other teams deal with it and some still manage to stay successful. You have to just find a way. These parts of the schedule require teams to have significant depth of roster, to endure.

its Colangelo, left us with a bad situation if Bosh leaves
the team is hamstrung by the Hedo contract, only time he could be traded is in 3 years
team will be stagnant for a couple years
picks will always be in the 12-16 range enabling the Raps to get blue chip prospects

but optimistically, Bosh stays and BC trades one a starter to get a good player or pick in return

I know this isn't related to the thread, so this should probably be split but really...is the team worse or better off than it was before BC came? Be honest, what young prospects did we have then? What level of near-allstar talent did we have? How was our cap situation? Attendance?

THe list goes on..the team is in a MUCH better place than it's been in some time. Stop being a 'typical' Raps fan and just be afan!

my view is either you're a contender or a young rebuilding team, cap space could also be included
the rest tred through mediocrity, barley making the playoffs
my point is you want to contend for a title some day not just accept playoffs and 1 series win as victory

what the hell are u talking about the draft lottery is completely real not rigged...and so what if we end up with the number 1 pick it doesnt make a team a champion or anything! Im just saying thats what it looks like because were always given a difficult schedule and the fact that Bosh is an amazing player but he isnt getting attention and eric smith and doug smith say it both all the time! Just think how much attention Bosh would get if he was on dallas or a non canadien team..

First that's not realistic. Basketball is a business and you need to fill the seats in the years you're not winning championships. That said it's not an overnight thing building a contender. My point is the team/franchise has made progress towards a championship. I don't agree with everything BC has done but he is making us better, bringing us closer. He is managing the cap so as to be flexible each offseason he's had. He's taken gambles to use what money he does have to make it happen and when it hasn't paid off he quickly reacts. I think he's done a pretty decent job, which doesn't mean i don't want more but you have to be realistic. It's very difficult to build a championship team...sometimes it takes luck(SA with Duncan), sometimes it takes patience(Boston was bad for a long time), sometimes it takes theft(LA robbing Memphis to get Gasol)... but in every case it takes time and paying some dues.
