Default When did Chris Bosh peak as a player?

I was thinking about this today... Bosh's best stretch of basketball (not necessarily from a pure statistical standpoint) was a two months stretch at the beginning of 2007. Kind of amazing, that is was two years ago.

I put up a video from my favorite Bosh game:

I would say the same thing. THe year that the Raps finally made the playoffs. I remember the Raps were the number one team in defence from JAnuary to the end of the sason. I would have to say between that time

Yeah, his peak was definitely early 2007. Pretty bad that he peaked at 22 years old. This year he's putting up his lowest PER since 2004-05.

You can't say he peaked already when he still has many years of playing ball left in him. Unless yall cant tell the future or somethin

I think that the 2007 season was the year we thought that he would become an amazing player that has yet to reach his ulitmate ceiling. PLaying the way he is this year I would have to say that, that was his peak and he isn't getting better but you never know

I didn't infer that he couldn't get better... Based on his career - thus far - when did he peak?

Ok, thus far. I think he peaked in the beginning of the season for those few games when he was in the top 3 for socring and getting to the line frequently.

i don't really get the question. If he can still get better and play the best basketball of his life, then he hasn't peaked yet.

Personally, i think the best basketball he's ever played was at the beginning of the year up until he started talking about being MVP.

he's only going to get better.
its funny how guys are giving up on bosh.
he gives the best effort out of anyone on the raptors.
maybe he's tired or whatever it is... he's a very good player.
a player to build your team around.
he's not hitting shots he would normally make and guys think he's done.
hed have even more point production if Calderon would pass him the ball when Bosh is running the lane....
there really isnt too many guys in the league right now you could build your team around for the present and future...
feel lucky we got bosh.

Peaked? He's 24 fuckin years old. After a month he was second in the league in scoring and averaging 27/11.He's been bad for the last few weeks but the rest of the team hasn't been any help. This November was his best month as a player in the NBA, but he's far from peaked!

This is a rediculous question!

He started talking about the MVP stuff at the begining of training camp. He was still coming off the high of winning a gold medal.

Him struggling has nothing to do with the MVP talk!

He still has to have room for improvement, he still doesnt play defense or box out, so his peak will be when he starts doing those.

Offensively he has peaked, defensivly he hasnt started to progress.

A lot of you guys sound like Bosh apologists. This team has been eroding for almost two years. 47 wins, to 41 wins to a start that is best described as cataclysmic. Eventually you need to look at your "franchise player" and expect some answers. If Bosh was a superstar the Raptors wouldn't be in a global-economy-like death spiral.

Then again, "he's tired" is a pretty reasonable excuse for a professional athlete in his early 20's. Lebron hasn't look tired. Neither has Kobe.

As a matter of fact the only players on the Olympic team struggling are Deron Williams (because of an injury), Michael Redd (who was on a downswing anyway) and Carlos Boozer (injured).

Here's the roster: http://www.usabasketball.com/news.ph...2008MSNTRoster

Finally, with respect to him rounding into form defensively... This is his sixth year in the league. His defensive statistics crested in year four. His body is, what his body is. Anybody waiting for him to turn into a Garnett like defender (or even a poor man's Jermaine O'Neal) should probably get comfortable. It might be a while.

^^I never said he was rounding into form defensively, I was implying that he sucked and unless he improved in that area then yes he has peaked.

He's 24 years old. /thread

While it's not outside of the realm of possibility that he has peaked, it's impossible to tell at this early stage of his career.
