We are getting killed when we go small, and conversely our big lineups are pretty effective. Primo + Hump played well today vs. scrubs against the Lakers.

Andrea has started to pick up his game, and as usual it's from the perimeter. Parker is playing great, too.

When Bosh comes back, I suggest a starting lineup of: Calderon, Parker, Andrea, Bosh, Rasho.

Bench: TJ, Delfino, Moon/Kapono, Hump/Moon, Primo/Hump.

Against teams with two elite swing players, we can consider putting Andrea and Bosh at the 4/5 to start, and obviously Parker will have to take whoever is the better wing player (ie LeBron cannot be guarded by Andrea), but a big lineup from us is hard to match up with. Andrea on the wing leaves room for Bosh and Rasho down low. Most importantly, it improves our weakside D and man-to-man D of bigs like D Howard, etc because Rasho is so much better at guarding bigs than either Bosh or Bargnani.

We become a NIGHTMARE front court matchup, and a headache for any team to play because we are so difficult to match up with. Our perimeter D dips a bit, but our D in the paint goes up by a bigger margin IMO.

If we ever want Bargs as a good C we better ahve him playing that way. We cant have Bargs defending fast SF. We would et killed.

You read my mind bballwatcher. Rasho isn't the next coming of Dwight Howard by any means, but inside on both ends of the floor he's been extremely effective and believe it or not is currently playing some of the best basketball in his career.

And like Tommy alluded too, we're already struggling with our perimeter defense so let's see what happens for a game or two starting those three in our front court. Right now we've got nothing to lose.

I think this lineup could work in some games, but with Andreea at PF and Bosh at SF. For example, last night, Bosh could have defended Odom much better than Moon did, who was obviously overpowered by Odom throughout the night.

Is that even possible?

I think we COULD use this lineup in certain matchups where we get killed on the boards vs big teams, but starting? Nah.

Im actually in favour of a Calderon, Parker, Moon, Bosh, and Nesterovic lineup with Ford and Bargnani being the first off the bench. It would be our best defensive/rebounding unit, and Bargs would get to play against backups to get his confidence up and provide that scoring punch off the bench that he provided last year. If hes got it going, keep him in (Sams motto), if not, Rasho provides more besides shooting. He'll still get his minutes because Rasho doesnt play all that much. The second unit would include Ford, Delfino, Kapono, Hump, and Bargs. A whole lot of shooters and one rebounder to surround TJ (what more could he ask for?). Both lineups would have a lot of balance and the potential to light it up. The only argument would be that it might slow the development of Bargnani to come off the bench but if hes still playing around the same minutes, plus has a chance to get his game going early against inferior players (plus less pressure as a bench player), then whats the problem? This might not happen because Raps wanna keep starting their former #1 overall pick but if they wanna play winning basketball, maybe even win a playoff series, this is the lineup they should go with.

I wouldnt start Bargs with Bosh and Rasho because it leaves their bench really thin up front and like u said - Bargnani doesnt match up well with quicker small forwards and they want to teach him to play big and that might hurt his development in that regard. I know other small forwards would have trouble matching up with Bargnani but shooting and scoring is not necessarily where the Raptors struggle so the difference wouldnt be substantial. As a far as rebounding and help defence (and obviously the initial defence of Bargnani on quicker players), I would rather have Moon (better rebounder and shot-blocker than Bargnani). And to switch starting lineups depending on the matchups creates an inconsistency that u do not want from your team - u want other teams to play your game, not play theirs.

I agree with the guy that said if we did it that way, Bosh would play the 3 and Bargs the 4. Bargs would be terrible guarding 3s, and would pick up ridiculous fouls.

At this point though I'd rather stay with what we have. Moon is as good at rebounding as Rasho anyways, and he's been playing great d lately... Not that Rasho hasn't been excellent, but I think Moon fits rather well.

as I said, I can see this happening only in certain matchups, teams like LA (with Bynum+ Gasol + Odom) or Orlando. And only on defensive, on offensive Andreea will play the 3 and Bosh the 4.
