IF im not mistaking he is playing for Lietuvos Rytas (same team that JV was playing before coming to Raps)
If you ask me this is a wasted pick. Apparently JV and Zubcic have same agents, and rumors are that JV's agent threatened BC that if he is not going to draft Zubcic, JV will stay in Europe one more year.

He's a stasher.
We'll probably trade his rights for a 2nd rounder some time down the road.

If he ever steps foot on an NBA court I'd be extremely surprised.

I thought he was what they call a "euro stash" pick. That's when you're picking in the 50s (especially the late 50s) and there really isn't a player you want to give a guaranteed contract to right away, so you just draft an international project who remains "stashed" away, regardless of whether you think he will even really amount to anything. If develops into something great, that's a bonus. But the expectations are always low.

A lot of guys who are available in the late 50s are guys you could just invite to training camp/play on your summer league team without having to guarantee them any money. So, relax. We didn't waste a pick. Other guys who could have been drafted were almost certainly evaluated in some other capacity, like summer league or whatever.

Another of our former euro stashed picks, Giorgio Printezis, was traded to OKC by the Blazers in the Maynor deal.

Well, technically we didn't pick him. That guy has been stashed by numerous teams. His rights seem to get traded almost annually.

as we witnessed today in the Haddadi for Telfair trade, it doesn't really matter what the guy is, a player can always be an asset in a trade, 1 player is better than no player

I`m not sure if this is directed at the stashing of players, but when a team does that, they don`t automatically have ``no player``. They can just fill the roster spot with someone else, like cheap vets (AA or Lucas type).

Sure. Although, really, OKC wanted to trade Maynor for nothing (a TPE). But that's against the rules - something has to come back in a trade. So they traded him for "the rights to" Printezis. The reality is that most of these Euro stashes are used this way - they get tossed about from team to team just to make salary dumps legal, and never get to the NBA, because no one really wants them.
