Thinking it looks a little like this.

Nah, if he bulks up and polishes his offence game, I think he can be a solid starter in this league. If he wants to make it as an All-Star, he's gonna have to work for it.

Yeah, pretty much.

He'll be a defensive monster though. Especially if he can put on 20 or 25lbs.

i cant see davis ever being an all star in this league.

on a different ed davis note, I feel that if he gets the chance to leave toronto, he will. He doesn't to have developed a love for the city like demar and sonny. it all started with that stupid reporter asking him all those passport questions at the draft.

A great role player/starter on a contending team. I think he can be pretty good. Not a star but a good solid player that everybody would want on their team. 14/10 sounds good with defense. That is not star or all star level but he can be one part of the piece to something good. Now just gotta go out and finish the puzzle with other players.

There is plenty of time for him to fall in love with Toronto like DeMar and Sonny did.

hes not gonna develop faster if we keep letting him build his game around putback shots and open pick and rolls. give it to him in the post, use him how memphis uses zach randolph, let the dude get the ball, size up his man and watch him go while still giving wings ample touches so they wont get frustrated.

this season is going nowhere, so whats the point making trey johnson dominate the ball, let all our core young pieces get more touches.

because of davis good hands he can become an all star IMO. he already has the defense side down.

if we trade Bargs and start to develop davis he could possibly mimic a Al jefferson or a horford. davis was raw coming out of college and the fact that he already loves to play defense and get on the boards for easy points make its all that much easier to help him develop a post up game. he might need to put on a few pounds but that should not be an issue in the next few years as his body continues to grow.

His ceiling is 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks a game.

All-Star games should not be the aim. He could definitely make All-NBA defense if he puts the work in. And that would be as noteworthy, if not more.

If Davis develops a decent mid-range game, I could see him developing into a 20/10-12 player. If not, then 15/10-12 sounds about right.

He seems to have a good knack of getting into scoring positions and finding those open spaces for garbage buckets and he is already pretty good defensively and a solid rebounder.

It all depends on how much he is willing to work to improve his game because really, his ceiling is pretty high.

+1, That's more like it, man.

On a side note, I think our team is really screwed up because of Bargs. Regardless of my Italian heritage, I think that any strides made in Davis' or DeMar's game will be all for naught due to Bargnani's defensive deficiencies. I really wish there were more truly good defensive centres out there, doesn't every team though? :\

With a bit more emotional juice, I like to think that he might have a similar impact as Joakim Noah. That would be good.

Where do you get the notion that he is going to struggle offensively?
We don't run any plays for him. Any. And he still gets his points off offensive rebounds without problem. Already shows midrange jumpshot, interesting post moves and not shying away from contact.

They way Bargs is playing, Davis should start alongside Amir. Not Evans or Dorsey or whoever.

the thing i love about ed is how natural everything looks for him on the defensive end. he had one or two putbacks last night and it just looked like he had a sense of where the ball was going to come off the rim, found the angle, and in one fluid motion got up and put the ball back. same deal with his blocked shots - he's shown that he's really good at anticipating when the offensive player is going up, and also how the offensive player is going up. i love what i'm seeing.

Bargs for pau's little brother and Calderon for anybody in a final contract year that's all I ask and watch honest ed roll with more playing time in 11-12! Lol

I would compare him to Udonis Haslem. He can, down the road, produce 10-9 on a winning club. Any Jermaine Oneal (in his prime) comparisons would be an exaggeration.
