Default What would you rather?

Just want to get an idea on what you guys would prefer in terms of our 1st and 2nd round matchups?

Do you believe this team is playing at such a high level that you'd prefer a tougher 1st round opponent in order to face the easier matchup 2nd round matchup(WAS/CHA+IND)?

Or are you of the opinion of taking it 1 series at a time, and hoping we can just win one series because of this franchises past, and shouldn't look ahead to our 2nd round opponent?

Discuss.

Going with the path of playing the Heat. They are gonna have to play them eventually anyway if the Raps have any championship aspirations. Besides that the high level of competition will only make them better for years to come and it's better to begin that test sooner than later(even if it means getting swept). Can't be afraid, Jordan had to suffer years of losing to the Bad Boy Pistons,LeBron to the Celtics, it just comes with the territory. First things first is taking care of their round 1 opponent and the Wizards or Bobcats are a more favorable match up than the Nets.

was/mia for me. Either you're winning the championship this year or your not. Not. I have a hard time seeing us taking out Brooklyn right now so why flare out after one round?

Brooklyn and Indiana for me, as I would hope maybe the Bulls could knockout the Heat, thus having a Raps-Bulls Eastern Conference finals

winning a round is much preferable as we would be heavy underdogs against either miami or the pacers. A series with the pacers would be more competitive, but I doubt we'd win more than 2 games at best.

I'm just in it for the ride at this point. Can't even bother to think about it. Plusses and minuses with each. As long as they don't think one or the other is automatically insurmountable i'm good.

Hollinger's computers have Toronto with an 18.1% chance of getting to the Finals. That's 4 points better than either Indy or Chicago. Miami is at 35.6. The rest are around 5, aside from Atlanta with 2.

playing Miami would at least ensure that we end up on American television...

Miami brings with it BETTER coverage on American television. I think most people get that. Even if we played Indiana, that series could get burried in some highlight packages on sports news in some American citities, I suspect.

I'd rather the team not get embarrassed against the Heat in front of a national USA audience.

I voted CHA/WAS. Getting beyond the first round would be a huge achievement for this franchise.

yeah, I'm not sure if you're trolling or just being weird. Why presume they would be embarrassed? It really goes back to the same lack of imagination the tankers exhibited months back, when the common theme was that making the playoffs only to meet the Heat or the Pacers in the first round would just be a horrible embarrassment. I'm pretty sure you said as much yourself. If not then I apologize. It just seems like it never goes away. If they compete against the Heat in front of big numbers then it would be a positive that could make a difference going forward.

The best (only) thing to do is keep winning and hope for the best
trying to choose opponents is risky

I believe Indy is 1st for a reason tho, despite our record vs them/their late struggles they are gonna pound us just like mia would

yeah, but the computers assume that teams will continue playing like they did recently, which is an acknowledged weakness (from its creator)- because everybody knows that's not the case. Miami in particular will be a very different animal in the playoffs, but in general veteran teams do much better in the playoffs. Keyword being "in general", there are, as always, exceptions.

Every time you say some weird comment towards me. Yeah, I said I would have preferred a top 7ish pick than the team get destroyed as an 8th seed against the Heat/Indy.

Anywho? How do you think this team fares against the Heat in a 7 game series? Please do tell. I think this team has a much better shot against Indy than Miami. This team has shown that maybe there is a shot of beating Indy but against Miami less likely. Just my opinion and the opinion of others as well that this team would fare better against Indy than Miami. I'm noticing the 9 to 6 of Indy/Brooklyn as opposed to Miami + CHA/WAS.
