What would you look to do at the trade deadline?

If you were BC what would you look to do and what players would you be looking at moving? Would you deal Barbosa if the deal is right? Would you seriously explore what you could get for Jose now that his stock is finally high enough to get something? Would you look to trade Ed Davis or Bayless? Or would you do nothing until the draft?

MrClutch 01-14-2012 11:11 AM

If I'm BC, Im trying to at least add another top 10-15 draft pick for this years draft. Also get a return for Barbosa whether a late 1st rounder or an early 2nd rounder. Then I'll find out the value of each player around the market and see what I can get for each player and work my way from there

Whats trolling about that post? all those players he listed are expendable for picks... just not all at once

I'd keep Amir before Jose.

jj33 01-14-2012 12:04 PM

Definitely trade Barbo before trade deadline for a pick or a young player with potential, ex. D Ebanks.

After watching Ed Davis got pushed under his basket after a free throw by a SG Paul George... man, we need some bulkier, stronger big man. I give up on Davis, he plays like he doesn't care and doesn't wanna be in Toronto.

DDUnreal 01-14-2012 12:05 PM

Ya sure you'd rather that but if the offer makes sense at the time why wouldn't we drop him?

He's played the total of ONE season (game wise) and is second on the team in double doubles in that time without a real training camp and you give up? Lol

wtf?

This team is nasty, unless we bring some new players in this season we're gonna suck next year too.

I don't like the way any of those players play basketball.

Ed's just an average role player. What can he actually do well?

because when a player want to play here, you need to keep him. especially if he play and give all his energy on the court.

never forget this team had some trouble to bring here great player.

in the matter of this thread :
keep barg, DD, amir, JJ, Jonas

barg is our best player for now. we are building around him now, so don't sell him.
DD because he is still a work in progress and he is only 22years old.
Jonas is our futur Center.

so you have 3 starter for our futur.
you need a pg and a sf.

with Amir, you have a backup PF who can defend, can produce and grab some rebound. and he hustle easely.
With JJ you have a backup sf defender. he need to learn more. and i think casey will teach him over the years.

so yes i would trade barbo, jose, bayless, kleiza and davis.

you can exchange davis for a mid first or in a package

jose willl be an help for a contender for sure. take an expiring and a pick.

barbosa to chicago for brewer + 1st charlotte.

make a package bayless+kleiza for singleton+thuriaf

then bring back dorsey as our 3rd pf.
and please waive alabi.

???/???/???
DD/brewer/???
???/JJ/singleton
Barg/amir/dorsey
JV/thuriaf/magloire

DDUnreal 01-14-2012 01:54 PM

my post referred to amir over jose... I would trade anyone on this team other then bargs DD jv

Dark Knight 01-14-2012 02:40 PM

I would definitely trade Barbosa for another draft pick, especially if we aren't anywhere close to the playoff hunt by the deadline.

I'd explore my options with Davis, but I'd only trade him for a piece that would significantly upgrade the team. Maybe see if any contending teams would be willing to give up a young piece for Jose.

EDIT: In fact, as much of a Bargnani supporter I am, I'd also try to gauge the kind of trade value he'd have and what kind of haul he'd bring back. Maybe even shop DeRozan a little.

Fact is, nobody on this team is untradeable except V maybe.

Superjudge 01-14-2012 02:44 PM

DK, you say that as if it's an option that Toronto WILL be in a a playoff hunt.

:confused2:

i gotta say i agree. Too many of our better players are just role-type players in reality and that's not good enough. Guys like him, James and Amir Johnson, Kleiza. I like those guys, but they are what they are. Shit even Derozan is starting to show he may not reach the peaks we all hoped.

Defend, rebound and he has the instincts to be a decent shot blocker. I find that if a player isn't scoring 20ppg game people lose interest. Sad.

Superjudge 01-14-2012 02:50 PM

you just described a solid second unit scrub!
