So if a second unit player is as you say "solid" he's a scrub? Ok, then that's good to know.

What is a scrub anyway? Everybody uses that term around here, I don't think some of you even understand it's meaning.

Forbes, Carter, Butler, Alabi = scrubs

I agree it's used far too much. Any player that rarely plays if at all on a bad team is absolutely a scrub. If you're a 12-15th man on this type of team you're a bonified scrub.

dangle barbosa, bayless and jose. see what you get offered. if there are decent picks or young guys with good contracts you go for it. if not, let 'em expire. dangfle davis too, just to see what happens.

i wonder if they have approached bayless about an extension yet. no hurry, but i am curious where he sees himself in terms of worth. probably best for both sides to see how the season goes before committing to anything.

I expect something to happen. I don't care what so much at this point. If nothing happens it's going to be a little disconcerting for me. They say they are building a team. I want to see some evidence of that.

By the trade deadline? No need to have to do something. The summer is when most, if not all the moves will be made. Barbosa might be dealt by the deadline and/or maybe something else of the minor variety.

Why does everyone want to get rid of Davis? With more experience and PT I think he's going to blossom into a very nice player. Just because he hasnt started the year too well doesnt mean too much. I think once he earns the consistant PT and plays consistantly, he'll be a very valuable piece to this team. Trading him now for 1/2 price would be stupid.

Anyone on this team should obviously be available for the right price, but I'd try and keep ED/Bargs/Johnson/Derozan if I were to name the core pieces I'd like to stay.

Bargs' value is at an all time high though, so if we can get a really good deal for him I'd really look in to that as I dont think we'll ever go anywhere with him in our starting 5 unless Casey does turn in to a Thibodeau, and Valanaciunius a Bogut type to completely hide Bargs.

I think Jose and Barbosa have to get shopped. I think Bayless can be a good player for this team whether its at the 1 or the 2. Also as of right now, I would consider seeing what you could get for Derozan, I don't think he is ever going to develop into starting 2 of merit. The 1 threw 3 positions have alot weakness. Kleiza maybe able to fill the role of a starting 3 with James Johnson coming off the bench. Regardless this team needs consistent scorers and ball handlers. Players able to create for themselves whether its with the ball or with out it. I think you hold on to Davis his potential as back up, IMO out weights any thing he could possibly be exchanged for.

Yeah, i agree. Giving up on Ed after what he showed last sason is a little premature to say the least. There are 4-5 players on this team i want here next season, the rest can be dealt and i wouldn't give it a second thought.

Players i don't want back next season-
Butler, Forbes, Carter, Grey

Players i'm indifferent about-
Bayless, Barbosa, JJ, Kleiza, Jose, Alabi

Players i want here for 2012-13-
Derozan, Bargs (if he continues his play), Davis, Amir, Val

why davis?

has he done anything to show he is gonna be better than amir?
yes its only been 1 season, but there hasnt even been so much as a single glimpse as to something special there. nothing. at. all.

like sj said a solid bench player or possible a starter on a bad team.

Its just not worth it to shop him around. He's getting 11 million over the next 4 years. For that price your getting 20 -25 minutes and 7 and 7 and he is proving to be a solid shot blocker. His salary fits perfectly into the next years out look when he going to be playing directly behind Andrea with less play time. Then think about what he is actually going net this team in a trade scenario. He is basically an add on to sure up salaries or a 2nd round pick. He has greater worth for this team, then as an asset. No to mention he is a second year PF, a position that is dominated by veterans, he going to have to grow into it.

Give the guy some time, jeeze. He showed glimpses and went through stretches last year of being a very good defensive player, rebounder, and shot blocker. Hes a pretty good finisher at the rim as well. Hes not a moron. Hes got potential. Its not like we dont have time to develop him. Magloire really shouldnt even be playing any minutes IMO, thats the one thing so far this year I havent liked from Casey. Ed should be getting 25+ mpg as the only bigman backup to see what we have.

He's better defensively, last season was a better rebounder than Amir, is more under control than Amir and is not foul prone like Amir. Right now Amir is better but is a veteran in the NBA even for his age. Amir in his second year wasn't even playing. Hard to compare the two, but yes i can see Davis eventually being better than Amir.

A front court of

Bargs/Davis
Val/Amir

next season is intreguing. Add to that a veteran Center an we'd be in good shape. I'm not opposed to dealing Davis, but if it's only for a mid-late 1st i'd say fuck that.
