I would love Wiggins becoming a Raptor....

Let's all remember that he hasn't even played a game in college... He might not be the next great one... Either way.... He's from Toronto... A Canadian on Raptors feels good

Our best chance of getting him is if his perceived value drops

Play well big guy.. But don't dominant

really hope we don't get a new tank for Wiggins thread every week.
look at some of the rosters in the league. Raptors are no where close to being a bottom 3 team.

To me, tanking is the best way to build a contender. (I know not everyone agrees though)

Exactly, currently this is a 7-9th seed imo. We're not getting Wiggins unless we make a blockbuster trade for the #1 pick.

exactly and its never going to happen this year. Especially with a new GM like Ujiri you think hes going to make such a bold move to ruin his good reputation currently he aint no BC!

Wiggins is going to develop hopefully into a quality star, let his contract last with whatever team he goes. end of the day he wants to go to the raptors, and I see that happening in the future. some of you guys are very hesistant to get the very best right away, need to calm down and let time roll on its own.

Unless he pulls a steve francis, ill be happy

but we can always experiment, this season is actually great.
for example, what would happen if we played the entire 4th quarter with our bench, would this stimulate their growth as players?

or we can refuse to shoot any 3pt shots, to promote driving to the rim.

come on, show some imagination coach casey, wouldn't it be great if we could go small with a line up of buycks, lowry, ross, demar and gay? Or shoot only with the off hand? Or sit all our veterans on b2b to save them for the playoffs?

it can be done, if everybody is on the same page

The Bleacher Report has the Raptors taking the 11th pick in 2014. Personally I don't think its going to be that bleak. Wiggins is more then likely going to be in Orlando, They out of every team have gone into an absolute tank mode. But this is an extremely deep class Aaron Gordon and Julius Randal may even be better picks for us in terms of filling talent gaps as apposed to a complete roster shuffle. Jabari Parker may even be there for us depending on how high we can climb. All of our hopes don't lie in whether or not get this pick.

Philly is worse than Orlando IMO. They at least have some decent young talent in Vucevic, Harkless, and Harris. Philly's best player is probably Thad Young.

I agree with the rest though. This class is so stacked that I'd honestly be satisfied with a 7th pick. Smart, both Harrisons, Wiggins, Selden, Randle, and Gordon are all top level talent that would go no1 overall most drafts.

It's pretty easy to get him. Just tell him it's unpossible to go anywhere else, and that we'll give him new toys that aren't sticky.

Oh wait. I was thinking of Wiggums. Never mind.

Pretty much that yes.

Either Gay/DeRozan + Ross + 2014 first + 2016 first + NYK 2016 first should get it done.

Honestly, I think Wiggins will be as untouchable as Anthony Davis was/is. The only thing you could probably get him for would be a top 10 player.

I wouldn't do it. JV has proven to be able to dominate, while wiggins best case scenario he dominates and wins the NCAA championship. val is a center who can shoot free throws and is rarer than a SF. unless wiggins really does show to be the next lebron I wouldn't do it

What has Val dominated? Summer league? He's a great player but he hasn't shown domination of any sort.

Let's face it, he's on track to be a dominant Center in the NBA which is not easy to find these days and he's only 21. Even last season towards the end of the season, in the final month he averaged 15ppg/6rpg/2.4blks........that's impressive for a 20yr old kid who was underweight for his position. When you look at him now physically you have to admit he appears extremely dedicated to getting bigger/better. A player at his age, with his talent that has the attitude he has is rare. If we traded JV for Wiggins we better be damn sure he'll be a star.

I was referring to the regular season. he showed flashes of domination last season, with them occuring more towards the latter stages

Hang on a sec. It's 2012 and I'm the N.O. GM. A team offers me either a Gay or a DeRozan + Ross + 2013 first + 2015 first + NYK 2015? That means I can appease the fans short term by bringing in players such as Gay and Ross, but I also have two 2013 1st, a 2014 1st and three 2015 1st? You can do plenty with those assets. I'd have to more than consider it for Davis. If only Vince Carter could have gotten us that.
