Knicks fans, as they got eliminated tonight...

I'm 100% sure the pacers nets and heat through games against the hawks at the end of the year. Can't beat the pistons but they beat those three teams? Pacers bench their starters against the hawks? No one wanted the knicks in the playoffs.
Quote:
I actually think those teams could have thrown games to the hawks because they were more scared of the Knicks in the playoffs

I didn't watch the games, but I could honestly see teams doing that
Quote:
NBA cringing about Atl making playoffs and not NY, that team is a absolute bore, no one wants to watch them, not even fans.

Well, this is good news for Denver and Orlando. Denver has the right to take NY's pick, so this gives them more lotto ball chances for a top 3 pick. And Orlando gets the worst of NY and Den's picks, so the Magic are now guarantted at least a second lotto, instead of the 15th pick if NY squeeked into the playoffs.

THE KNICKS MISS THE PLAYOFFS.....AND NO PICK!!!!!!!

Every position in our starting five is better or equal to theirs now with Lopez out.

Lowry > D-Will
DD > JJ
Ross = Pierce IMO
Amir = KG IMO
Jonas > Plumlee

Although Pierce and KG could explode in the playoffs and become a shadow of their former selves.

Funny how Knick fans are so desperate to have a good team that they think teams lost on purpose to the Hawks just because they were scared of the Knicks. To be honest I would rather face the Knicks than the Hawks.

you're trying to understand the reasoning of a detroit fan that never watches us and is basing that opinion on a or two games. plus that's just our reputation, which until we win another round in the playoffs won't change.

I dissagree with the equal signs, and well lowry can be better than D will, the same can be said the other way around...Jonas is >>> I think BK may be a loss, but a loss in 7

Pistons fans' quotes are gold.

Anyone know where Bryan Colangelo is? He just hanging around Toronto? His resume is deep, so I should just check linkedin and see if he is CEO of Primo Pasta.

But seriously, he could end up in a place like Detroit. They need to clear the deck and re-build through the draft.

Ross at 8th pick, JV at 5th, Davis at 13th, Derozan at 9th.....er just ignore any picks that happened before that and never let that man make bandaid trades. Go Pistons.

the only other pick was Bargnani ... who had the talent to justify the position, just lacked in areas that were pretty difficult to quantify for a guy with no college experience. The really puzzling fact is that in europe he was (if I recall), a pretty good rebounder for his age.

and before toronto, he also drafted nash, marion and amare around ~10th - that's a hall of famer and two multiple all stars drafted very late in lottery.

If no one else is biting and you are given a mandate to do a proper re-build with a long-term fat contract, yes, he might. They were once proud and probably have had enough of the embarrassment. In other words, to do this time what Brian Burke and Brian Colangelo didn't while they were here. Do a proper re-build when the fans can stomach it instead of trying to get on a treadmill.

yeah, but his picks in toronto kind of support the more likely theory he has a good eye for talent. Of course, so did isiah, drafting is only part of the game.

I continue to maintain that BC would be a great GM if only he had the patience. That's a very underrated skill in a GM - and somewhat understandable given the pressures to win. The sad truth is nearly every time you reach (i.e. go for low probability), you will strike out. In BC's case, it was almost a 100% strike out, from kapono to JO to Turkoglu to Nash (luckily for us didn't happen) and finally Gay.

The only gamble that paid off was the trade for lowry, but that was arguably not a reach, since lowry clearly had talent and was very underpaid, and the upcoming draft was known to be quite poor. Still - that trade could have been very disastruous for us, the way it was structured - luckily we missed the playoffs and got out of it easily. And then again, if the greek guy turns out to be as good as some project, and given that masai (and BC for that matter) really liked him, it could still end up as a bad, bad trade (more so if lowry walks out on us).

I have to disagree with the Bargs assessment. I said it when he was drafted till the day he was booed out of town, I didn't feel he had the talent to go #1. It's easy to say Aldridge now, but I said it then and yes BC I has drafted well, but his stubbornness to let go of Bargs caused a lot of suffering (cue the dramatic music) and his need for a fix-it-all star has to be questioned. Although I didn't disagree with many of the moves at the time he made them.

looking back to barg's career, you don't think he had #1 level talent? He could have been very special, few players that size have his quickness and shooting. The problem is he never improved much after his first 2-3 seasons, and mostly regressed in all other areas.
Put lowry's mindset and demar's work ethic in barg's body and you get a hall of famer imo - he could have been that good. He was better than aldridge in their first 2-3 seasons too.

and the GM poll after the draft had Bargnani and Aldridge tied as the best players in 5 years - for whatever that's worth.
