It would be interesting if there were numbers on that. He's certainly good at using fakes to create contact, but it seems like he draws a lot of contact with his back to the basket, posting, and trying to beat guys off the dribble. Don't want to sound like a douche, because I'm not accusing you of implying anything, but sometimes people forget that a "post move" is not always within 5 feet of the basket. There is a high post. Derozan is decent there, too.

DD does seem to get fouled unusually often while taking a shot though.

76ers fans

Quote:
how good are they? Are they the new atlanta hawks? I haven't even noticed that they've had a winning record . Could they win a round?
Quote:
probably they will go to the ECF
Quote:
Sure, especially if they have homecourt, and especially if they stay in the 3 seed and avoid Chicago/Brooklyn
Quote:
If Kyle Lowry is healthy, I expect them to win a round.
Quote:
Yea its funny how getting Rudy Gay was supposed to make them better, but it didn't. Then they dumped him, and they've become a past denver nuggets type of team and have surprised a lot of people (including the Raptors front office imo)

Lowry and DeRozan have both played pretty good basketball and the team plays well together. Certainly capable of winning a round, especially in the East.
Quote:
they've been a good story this yr and I'd like to see them get homecourt and win a round. Take advantage of it now Raptors because I give it 3 yrs before the Atlantic division is dominated by the 76ers for several yrs.

Bulls fans discussing seedings

Quote:
Our game against Minny, and their game against NY tomorrow are huge. NY still has something to play for since Atlanta lost tonight, so hopefully they can beat the raps for us. Minny just got a big win against the Spurs, so I hope they blew their load tonight, and come out flat tomorrow
Quote:
Ideal setting:
1. Miami 2. Indy 3. Bulls 4. Raptors 5. Brooklyn 6. Washington 7. Charlotte 8. Knicks

Bad setting:
1. Miami 2. Indy 3. Raptors 4. Bulls 5. Brooklyn 6. Charlotte 7. Washington 8. Atlanta
Quote:
Here are the scenarios we want to happen for tonight

Indy Win (vs MIL)
Raptors Win (vs PHI)
We lose (vs MIN)
Miami Lose (vs MEM)

OR

Miami Wins (solidify 1st)
We Win
Raps Lose
Indy Lose

I think the 1st one is likely to occur. If the first one does happen, Indy needs to win that game in MIA.

*technically we're all rooting for the win, but if we're looking for playoff seeding, objectively we must lose. But who cares about that. Go Bulls.
Quote:
So division records are more important then conference records?

Bulls and Raps split the season series
We have a better conference record Bulls 33-15 Raps 29-18
They do have a better division record but why is that more significant. We are in two separate divisions.
Quote:
Looks like Indy will mail it in so we end up with the worst opponents anybody in the East can have in rounds 1& 2. Even though we have Charlotte's pick, I'm hoping they beat Washington tonight. Our only hope now is to win out and hope NY beats Toronto on Friday. If not we will be the 4 seed.

yeah, yeah, buddy, just make sure your front office doesn't draft another Evan Turner with their high lotto pick this year.

Also, in 3 years? You better pray Jonas' development stalls out, because he might have a Marc Gasol type impact on the game by then. And who knows where Ross's game might be at that point.

The Raps are winning, but they're young too. We're not at our peak. The Sixers have to get waaaaaaaay better to become a 50+ win team. We're almost there. They should consider themselves lucky if they make good enough picks to battle us for the division title.

I agree with everything you said. Hell JV might have an even bigger impact than gasol by then. Much more mobile than gasol, and longer (I think?).

Wait, why do they want to lose? They want Nets over Washington?

unsurprisingly not alot of material from philly

If Terence Ross keeps improving his defense and tightens up his overall game next year, this Raptors team is gonna be scary.

Lowry is about to get PAID this summer. Toronto better retain him.

lol @ philly fans "We'll get em next time, or the time after that......ok maybe in 3 years"

but they are kinda right, the rest of our division does have little future IMO

but you know the nets will spend like bandits and the celts will find a way

Both scenarios were about seeing Indy in the second round, if i'm not mistaken.

I see, they just assume they'll destroy who ever first round. Can't blame them, they're probably 2nd best team in the east.

Knicks

Huge game against the Knicks tonight

Quote:
I hope we win but Kyle Lowry is gonna remind us (again) why we should have traded for him. We need a miracle!

LEGGO!!!

f*** the Craptors, they will lose in the first round. We will easily take both games against them.

It's so Knicks to be eliminated from playoff contention by the team that they traded draft picks to. The Bargnani curse, year one: complete.

Thankfully just one more week and this crap is over.
Quote:
Oh goodness... you mean to tell me we're still doing game threads?
Quote:
Can someone explain to me how the Raptors are even this good? They trade away Gay and Bargnani and sit on top of the Atlantic. Is it that everyone sucks and they just filled the void or would anyone put them up against last yrs Knicks team or even the Nets when they are clicking. I just don't see how these guys are this good.
Quote:
Masai Ujiri is a terrific GM to start with. He traded players with horrible contracts and now have this Raptors team young and getting developed.
