The amount of coverage sucks, and the game has sucked since that little dick Bettman got his hands of the game and turned it into a "pretty" game for " pretty" people with hairy nostrils.

Yo I was at a sports bar tonight one of the biggest in Toronto actually and this place*has hundreds of TV's and I get in there at 7pm...And every god damn TV in there had the Leafs game except for one that had UFC on Sportsnet/Fox.*I was **** pissed off and snapped and yelled at one of the bartenders about it. Lucky for them*they didn't argue and put it on one of the big screens. I noticed after that 30-35% of the place*was watching the Raps game.*

Every waiter/waitress was wearing a Leafs jersey and they had a DJ who played a fire alarm*every time the Leafs scored and announced the goals like a PA announcer at a game. They*played the sound for the Leafs game and Don Cherry everything else was DJs top 40 music*instead of sound for the Raps game when the Leafs were in Intermission.*

With one minute left one the jabronis in there switched the one TV they were playing the Raps*game on to put on UFC. I bitched about it right away because I wanted to see if T-Ross would*get 50 and he was like "oh sorry I thought the game was over".

I swear if I ever get the money I'm opening my own sports bar in this crappy sports city.
Ha. I was there last night too watching it with a buddy.... and I was similarly shocked. The place is called "REAL SPORTS" not "LEAF NATION". My buddy and I bitched about it a bit and were seated in our own little section with 2 TVs.... way in the corner on the upper level lol. Thankfully we had a good waitress who still checked on us often.

Annoying.

Big game without Derozan tonight in Brooklyn

I don't actually feel that great about this game.

Just like last time, they're a young, athletic team that likes to get out and run, and that's a matchup problem for us. And once again, it's the 2nd night of a B2B for us.

We need this win though, because after this game...3 of our next 4 are against OKC, Indiana, and SA.
Quote:
I know the craptors are in first.... but i mean:

-They are .500 team
-They are on the road
-They are missing their best player(derozan)

there is no excuse to lose this game.

It made me laugh out loud. When ignorance goes to the next level it's actually very funny to me. Then again it was mostly the buy a Brian Adams CD that made me laugh.

To be fair, if you go to the thread where that comment was posted, he was replying to a pretty ignorant Raptors troll.

Blazers

In Oregon on the second night of a back to back

Quote:
 These are words I almost never say (being a fan who keeps low expectations)...
…but I expect a win tonight.

The Blazers have a ton of pride, and they finally got a few days off at home, along with a little practice. And they don’t want to lose three in a row. Toronto is a quality team now, and they gave us a run in our last meeting. I don’t expect a blowout, but I do expect Portland to put them away.
Quote:
I expect a close game but another L is not that remote... and a player's meeting ensues.
Team doesn’t usually play better after long breaks. So this trend will continue. LMA lets it out afterwards.
Quote:
I try to avoid cliché’s. But they do happen in sports.
But I would almost call this a must win game.
Must win from the perspective that the recent loss’s have been attributed to simply the normal up’s and downs of a grueling season. You can call this a “Mini-Slump” or whatever….( I don’t like excuses).
Quote:
Blazers got this, Raptors are going down

Quote:
Wow Toronto has a solid team now. Their bench is pretty adequete as well.
Quote:
Don't forget Lowry is a Blazer killer from the Houston days
We had to go into overtime to beat them at their house, and they are a much better team now.
With all that we can still squash that dragon, Lizard, or what ever a raptor is.
Quote:
I have to think Batum is a key piece. If he is not 90+%, he should probably sit and rest. This game appears to be one where Nic’s lock down defense is less needed (Toronto has no one super star) and his rest more valuable…

Toronto is probably more vulnerable to a three guard lineup too. That said, Toronto has been tough on Portland…let’s not be complacent…Phoenix shows that a road back-to-back team on a good run of play is a very dangerous outing…if the Blazers are not up to at least their ‘B’ game, Toronto’s guards will dismantle them…
Quote:
The Blazers will contnue their win streak vs the Raptors in Portland. The last time the Raptors won in Portland Bush was still President. Of the five Raptors starters only Lowry has ever played on a team that has won in Portland.

Since this is only the second game after their second flight on this Western road trip the Raptors shouldn’t be that tired especially given how young they are with the exception of Salmons and Hayes.

The Blazers are 10 point favorites in Las Vegas. Not sure if they will cover but they should have little trouble in winning this game.
Quote:
Toronto is on fire right now
18-8 over the last 26 games, including victories over pacers and thunder. I know the hesitancy would be to cross match and put Batum on Lowry but I think I’d rather he stayed on Ross just to be sure he doesn’t explode again.
Quote:
Raps have the league’s 7th ranked defense, a product of Dwane Casey’s solid defensive coaching, and solid efforts from underrated defensive players like Amir Johnson and Kyle Lowry, OR a fraud ranking that comes from one of the East’s only mildly decent teams getting the opportunity to feast on the garbage that its 2nd rate conference has to offer.
Quote:
Masai Ujiri, the Raptor’s GM, is a master of hunting down undervalued assets, OR a snake oil salesman who trades away the NBA’s only real commodity, stars, and uses the pieces to string together decent teams that get killed when met with real resistance. He has twice traded overrated star wings for good NBA players who contribute on both ends, OR he simply doesn’t understand that this IS a star-driven league and if you want to get 5 or 10 rings for your fingers and one more for your “man-finger,” then you gotta get a shot-taking-horse forged-from-rocks-from-hell and ride him straight into the press box. Trading Rudy Gay was a savvy move and the only thing to do with an overrated an inefficient player, OR there was no context for him succeeding in Toronto, look at how efficient he’s been in Sacramento!
Quote:
They also played in the thin air of Denver last night, so they should be adjusting to our normal air and have a hard time, OR playing last night is going to give their lungs temporary superpowers that make them more athletic than you can possibly imagine.

I'm with pzabby on this one. You will drive everyone nuts if you post like that as it's really damn annoying.

I must say, I respect the hell out of the Portland fans simply because they are well spoken about our team. I know I personally can't say enough of how good there team is, since they have some great players and have played extremely well this year

Big Al sorry Kanter playin crap defense again. Can we trade him please by deadline for Waiters and Bennett already. He is a cancer as he is a black hole on offense and plays no D whatsoever.
Quote:
I am sick and tired about picks and more picks...Young guys take 2-3 years to maybe develop. 2/3 of #1 picks turn out to be trash. I don't want to be the old LAC for the rest of this decade and just keep picking high and never being a contender. PS Kanter get a defensive rebound for once and Burks get a assist once in your life. We need a new coach as the time to baby the young guys is over and they need to get their ass whipped.
Quote:
If this is how Hayward plays when in love then he needs to become a monk.
Quote:
Val is killing Kanter. Looking like another instance of the Jazz drafting second best player at his position...
Quote:
WTF is going on with this team. Burke needs to get over this rookie wall, Hayward needs to get his balls back, and Kanter needs to make an effort to play defense or get traded, I'm sick of his refusal to try on defense.
