referees help the game to be played the way it was meant to be played. without them NBA would turn into street ball...
They deserve the upmost respect, i'm surprised it's not like this in europe. I think THAT'S absurd

no, im telling you the NCAA officials call the game according to the rules, and not a script, and agenda, or based upon marketing or anything else.

Honestly man....th NBA, as awesome as it is, is not an even ground. Now for our purposes today, were just talking about rookie treatment...but the quad whammy also exists.

I saw Collison just misses a double double this game, he'll get 16 pts and 9 asts. Mayo will go for 23 points and he'll get most of the headlines. I think Wright and Crowder will have huge impact on this game. Wright close to a double double and Crowder with 18 pts and 7 rebs.

Mavs 108 - Raps 97

I think this is a very tough game. Good thing we play at home and they are on the wrong end of a back-to-back. The Lowry injury benefits us as he played like an All-Star (best wishes for a speedy recovery). But Calderon also knows how to take care of the ball.

We need to outrun them as I fear their frontcourt is superior and more divers than ours. I like Vals athleticism and his aggressiveness to finish strong. Bargnani is a real threat and hopefully he has an off night.

I like that they struggle to rebound just as we do. Maybe we can outhustle them here.

Covering DeRozan will be tough. He likes to post up and I don't see the smaller Mayo stopping him. This needs to be addressed by Crowder, Vince, and Jones.

We need to force them into tough shots and I think it's possible. We are the better jumpshooting team IMO.

Getting another win under our belt would be great as the next game against the Knicks is very likely a L.
I gotta say, the more I look at their roster, the better I feel about this game.

I hear collison is doing well this season.

Mavericks

Tipoff in 6 hours, heres what Mavs Nation is saying

Quote:
Fields playing like trash after signing his 20m/3y offer sheet with the Raptors. One of the funniest moments in the past summer.

Lowry out, Bustnani playing as usual like crap...well, honestly i would be dissappointed if we lose.
Quote:
Lowry being out really handicaps the Raps in this game.

Derozan's post game has looked more refined this year, and the kid is such a hard worker. OJ will have a tough match up defensively. Bargnani is a joke, and his lack of effort to start this year off has really made me fed up with the guy. Brand can check and bully him most of the game with success. And finally, Jonas, who looks somewhat promising in the early going, has had major trouble against the better offensive centers (Lopez and Pekovic hurt him consistently). So if Kaman gets some burn, I think he'll likely have a lot of success against him.

Mavs up big at halftime, heres some talk from the fans

Quote:
we are playing nice...but boy the Raptors suck

Their defense is...not existent...Calderon get blown by everyone and Bargnani as usual dont hustle at all. That Murphy off rebound was typical
Quote:
Coach Casey deserves better.
Quote:
Ross was supposed to be the steal of the draft, then the Raptors took him 8th.

I think Toronto cannot rebound. They are allergic to rebounds.

We shockingly lost a coin toss, losing out on the player we really wanted.

Sucks that we lost out on Barnes over a coin toss. He would've been nice.

Ah. Oh well.

He'd be our 2nd best wing player right now.

Lowry is not playing for Raptors.. My guess is Lucas will replace him as starter.. We gotta take this one!

Toronto is favored by 2.5.

Possibly because if they win, the Sixers are at .500

I haven't seen anything about Lowry or Fields being definitely out, but if so that line should move and Philly should be a favorite.
Quote:
elds being out is a good thing for the Raptors.
Quote:
Calderon will/should be starting in place of Lowry and that guy has burned us in the past. I also usually pay attention to how the rookies do for the first few weeks of the year. TRoss should get some burn tonight I know he was a guy that a lot of you were high on during last Junes draft.
Hoping to see some more of Arnett Moultrie if we are talking rooks though. I also expect a Damian Wilkins sighting tonight as Evan and Jrue played a ton of minutes tonight.
This has the makings of a Nick Young coming out party. I predicted Turner last night and i'm going with Nick Young tonight as long as that doesn't offend anyone.
I'll jut go ahead and say it out loud... I love Evan Turner! I love his talent and I love what he has the potential to become. If that makes me gay, a pole hopper so be it. Turner is doing his thing so far and i'm hoping for a solid outing tonight from him. Playing 40 minutes last night might be cause to worry for some people but I believe that if you do something on a daily basis you tend to find a groove. I don't see him slouching tonight.

Quote:
Read on NBA.com this morning that Lowry would be back. Guess not.

This would be a huge disappointment to let a game like this get away from us. I think the team morale is huge coming off a win in the Boston Garden. Hope we pull away early and get some rest for the starters.

Re: the Harrison Barnes comments above

He's only a few games into his NBA career. His production might be even better by the all-star break. He hasn't had any "wow" games yet, but he does finish around the rim and can hit a shot. I'd take him over Fields in our starting lineup any day.
