I think they'd have enough to get Gay and Derozan without giving Drummond, but Rondo wouldn't be possible.

Can't see why we wouldn't do a Stuckey, Monroe, Knight, Jerebko and a pick for those two! Let them keep Drummond, there's a lot of value to be had.

They have enough assets for that. Monroe would likely get them more than just Rondo, if Boston wants to rebuild. He's healthy, young and no character issues. And then they have Pope, Knight, picks and a bunch of cap space.

But i don't like that team (Rondo-Demar-Gay-Drummond). Where's the spacing going to come from? Chuck city.

Stuckey and Knight suck. Monroe, Jerebko and that pick are the only things appealing to me. Still not sure I would give up Rudy and DeMar for that unless pick ends up top-10, which is possible.

I dislike Jarebko. Had him on my fantasy and he killed me, was benched half the time. Do not want! Nobody other than Drummond and maybe Monroe is desirable off that team for me.

Stuckey is an 8.5mil expiring. Knight doesn't suck IMO. Jerebko, meh. Monroe is the best player in the deal. The pick is just an extra asset.

While we may be giving up better players, it doesn't help that they're both overpaid.

Agree with that analysis. Sending out nearly 30M for less than 20.... pretty nice. So much flexibility and the best player in the deal. I suppose Gay could be, but Monroe is the kind of PF that could change our chucking culture.

It's funny that I always thought Bargs could be traded to NY or Dallas.

NY because he had his best games there. & Dallas to be tutored by Dirk...

Of course the Raptors would take that deal. (not that i think the Pistons would)

Knight is fine. 21 years old. Defends, can shoot. Physically gifted. A smart hard working guy by all accounts. If by the time he's 25 he's not as good as George Hill (at least), I'd be very surprised.
I don't think he's a great fit for the Raptors, unless the Raptors get a ball dominant playmaking wing in the next draft.
But he's a nice asset either way.

I love how before the 2011 draft everyone wanted knight, then BC picked val and everyone freaked.

looks like BC did some good things while he was here eh? picked up in my minds a future all star/potential super star in an extremely weak draft with the 5th pick

Pzabs It must be nice being so optimistic and hyping our players x100, all the time. On other hand it must suck to be wrong so often?

the thing about his contract is, hold onto him for one more year and it becomes more of an asset.

Not really. Then he just becomes a rental. And tbh there's not much need for a near 20mil expiring deal.

28m$/4y

Mark Cuban is a joke, I hope at least last year is not guaranteed.

Awful deal.
Quote:
go after Teague maybe with the same money?

4 years for this guy? 7m$? he's not a starter in this league, I'd pretty much start Larkin and try him before paying Calderon.
Quote:
His deal is still affordable...

We all know Cuban wont tank, sadly were gonna be in the middle again like last year, maybe get 10th pick this time around.

Management has always been enamored with Calderon, still didn't see this coming.
Quote:
4 years for a guy who will be 32 before the season starts, ugh... I don't mind the signing, but not the length of time.

On a side note, OJ has gone to the Bucks just now too.
Quote:
Wow, 7m a year for a 32 yr old no defensive pg to go with a no defensive pf, I wish Dwight would have waited until september when all the free agents are gone, we go from a championship team to a joke in two years
Quote:
**** I didnt realize he was 32.

I take some of that back...

Why commit 4 years to him fully gauranteed...this was stupid.
Quote:
Lets backtrack 5 years ago....

We traded our prize PG to get Jason Kidd......he was 35 at the time I think.....

Doesnt make me feel any better

Wow, they're complaining about the Kidd trade that ultimately led to a title ... how about that ...
