I hate hearing him talk, biased and provides no insight on the game. Worst part is when a player takes a bad shot and he makes it's a good shot but if the player misses the same exact shot it's a bad shot. Honestly, growing up watching Raptor games without knowing anything about basketball, I thought that was what constituted a bad shot and good shot thanks to him.

Or he'll call out a Raptor player for doing something bonehead, like not boxing out their man. He did that to Lowry last night when he tried to leak out on 3-point attempt and the shooter got an O-board.

When Jack goes off in a way that favours the Raps, there is usually a good reason for it. Now, Matt and Leo? They can be homers at times. Matt has a much different personality, in my opinion, when he announces for TNT during the playoffs. He cuts down on the cheese. Maybe Matt felt he had to have "personality" after following Swirsky, or maybe his producers and Raptor corporate affiliates told him to, I don't know. But he's a different guy. He exagerates positive raptor plays, and sometimes acts like we've been shot in the face over small reffing mistakes. He gets too Swirsy-esque sometimes. I still like Matt, though. A middle ground between Raptor Matt and TNT Matt would be nice.
Agreed, he's our version of JVG, love how he isn't scared to speak the truth. I always felt that Matt has to be biased because that's what his job requires him to do as the lead commentator. I watch a lot of other broadcasts because I stream most Raptor games and I find every lead commentator is the same. They say only good things about their team for the most part.

agreed, that is their job, they are basically the audio entertainment part of the tv broadcast, so they have to entertain their audience, so of course they're going to back the team they're working for and the team that the audience is watching for

Amir is not an UFA this summer, just so no one gets worried. He's locked in for two years after this one.

It's really a credit to Amir and his work ethic that he's played so well to be worth that crazy contract he got. Everyone(as they should have) believed he was overpaid, including myself, and he's played so well this season he's looking like he's worth every penny.

But I still believe he's best suited as the 1st big off of the bench getting 25-30 mpg nightly at both the PF and C positions. We'll take that next step as a team once we get a solid starting PF, and fill out our bench with more reliable, talented players.

agreed, he's probably the unsung hero of this team this season
i think he suited in any situation, he doesn't have to be the first big off the bench, i don't mind him starting but i would like it if the other guy starting beside him at the bigs position was a better player so amir would be supporting him instead of being the go to big
of course if he came off the bench that would just mean that there are 2 superior bigs ahead of him, but i don't think his role is better suited for either the bench or starting, he plays hard and pretty well for us against any lineup

Knicks

Just a reminder, we are playing the Knicks tonight. Let the Knicks-Raptors rivalry resume.

Raptors are not a good team. Knicks must win.

Should have used this picture for the Craptors

Quote:
We're probably gonna lose cause the Raptors always seem to get the best of us.

I wonder if Melo or Shump will be guarding Canada's new National Treasure.
Quote:
Really hope Melo comes out and wipe the floor with the Raptors. Some of their fans think they have a shot at taking New York in a series. Wins against a short handed Clippers & Nuggets team aren't "quality" wins.
Quote:
Regardless of tomorrows result. You guys serious? Now is not the time to talk trash

Quote:
I'm not really sure we're going to win this one. Raptors are very athletic and love attacking the paint while our perimeter defense sucks so bad that everyone can get to the rim with ease. Combine that with Tyson probably not showing up and we have a problem.

We are the better team but lately we've been playing like **** while the Raptors did just the opposite.
Quote:
I am worried about Fields going off, guy is so skilled and I am not sure we have the personnel to slow him down. Knicks should do a fan promotion and allow one lucky fan to guard Landry Fields while he's on the court, he still won't score.
Quote:
Pretty cocky for a team that is playing a back to back fresh off barely beating the nuggets even though they has no gallo or iggy. You need to be in games for gay to hit game winners. I eagerly await the competition between gay and jr to see who can have a more inefficient game while single-handedly shooting their team out of the game. My guess is gay goes 7-20 while smith impressively goes 4-14. Unless we get sucked into a fast pace transition dunk fest I see us pulling this out.
Quote:
Toronto is hot. We better show up from start to end and play some defense.

If Toronto plans to be in the playoffs, they need to win.

Period

And if there is any other goal in that room, no matter how insane, I'd be very surprised.

Winning games has a way of inspiring players in any sport, it changes the way they percieve their own identities. Toronto has beaten a lot of top tams this year, now, having just put together a nice little record of late, losing a couple close ones and winning the games they are supposed to win, as well as clunking the guys in Indiana, the Raptor players are certainly going into games for a while with a different mindset.

Don't be surprised if they not only beat New York tonight, but they smoke them out of the building.

Just a hunch I guess.

That's classic New York, lot's of talking, some whining and waiting for bitchslapping near buses. I wonder if Melo still has his paparazzies recording him.
