Raptors trade Andrea Bargnani and Linas Kleiza to the Suns for Markieff Morris, Kendall Marshall, Wesley Johnson, and 2013 first overall pick.

Raptors trade Amir Johnson, 2nd round pick for Wilson Chandler.

Raptors trade AAron Gray for any expiring.

Raptors trade Fields for any expiring.

Raptors trade Calderon for pick.

Raptors draft Otto Porter with the Suns' pick.

Raptors hopefully win the lottery and draft Nerlens Noel or sign Paul Millsap.

Raptors sign and trade in the offseason: Demar DeRozan for Tyreke Evans

Raptors sign Dalembert as a free agent

Use left over cap space to fill out any needs.

Lowry/Marshall
Evans/Ross
Porter/Chandler
Noel/Davis/Morris
Valanciunas/Dalembert

I say we need to get 2-3 more prospects, and then fill out the roster with veterans/decent role players and eventually this team will explode into the playoffs hopefully. Also guys I don't follow NCAA too much, but I hear people say this draft sucks an hopefully we lose our pick and can get wiggins in 2014, is there literally not a single player in the 2013 draft that can be a franchise player?

Our number one priority if a Calderon and Bargnani trade can't be worked out, is to create flexibility next year. Try to move Gray, Kleiza, Fields, and Amir for expiring contracts and/or picks. We really need to shed salary

1) Look for a team that's in need of a back-up centre because of injuries and send Gray for an expiring minimum in return.

2) Try an Amir, 2nd for Wilson Chandler. If it doesn't work out, look to trade him elsewhere, but don't be too pressed to do so as we have the option to amnesty him in the offseason if needed.

3) Try to package Kleiza in a Bargnani trade or move him for any expiring. I'm thinking the Suns might do a Kleiza for Wesley Johnson, if the first option doesn't work.

4) Try trading Fields in a Bargnani package. He played will with Dantoni. If no team will offer us an expiring, we have to wait it out and try to build his value up again.

2013 cap hit
Gray: 2.7 million
Amir: 6.5 million
Kleiza 4.6 million
Fields: 6.25 million

This opens up roughly 20 million dollars in capspace. It doesn't mean we have to use it all or overpay for a free agent. We can preserve some of the space for subsequent years. At least we have options heading into the offseason to make some moves to improve our roster, beyond just the mid-level. There's a chance we might not retain our pick, so it's best to have some more flexibility in terms of free agent options.

Moving only two of those pieces before trade deadline: Kleiza and Gray, plus amnesty option on Amir in offseason (IF NEEDED) provides 14 million dollars. We still have room if Fields can't be moved.

have we ever properly rebuilt the team since BC came in? seems like we rebuild for 1/2 a season then waste money in free agency every couple years.

If BC actually cares about the long-term health of the franchise, like he said he did on the radio, he should consider this. With our current record, a new GM is more than likely going to be coming in. Wayne Embry cleared out some of the trash for BC, it's only fair he does the same for his likely successor. Even if he still is here, it gives him options, whereas we don't really have any with our pick likely to be gone and no cap room.

To be fair to BC, he did do something similar with the Suns in the past, when he picked up Steve Nash. Major difference obviously was that he had Marbury and Isiah Thomas who was willing to take back any contract. The thing I'm getting at is, BC clearing up space to utilize it in the summer, is something I wouldn't be surprised to see him to do, especially given our current record.
