Jamario Moon is playing 29-30 minutes per night and is struggling to say the least. Are we seeing this guy's limitation in a more glaring fashion this season vs last season which was an almost fairytail story of a guy finally getting his shot with the big boys. He's going on 29 yrs old and couldn't catch on with any NBA team prior to last season. His athletesism alone should have gotten him a better opportunity with a team in the NBA.Did they see what we are seeing this season, which was there last season but was mostly overlooked due to his story and rookie status? His inability to drive to the rim,his chucker mentality, his inconsistency on D?

Last seasons stats:

8.5PPG/6.2RPG/1.4BPG (27MPG)

This season:

9PPG/1RPG/1BPG (29MPG)

This should be a bench guy playing 15-20MPG.What does his future hold? And if this is all he is,does BC let him go in the offseason or trade him by the deadline in a package or for a draft pick.

The guy is shooting at a 60 percent clip. I fail to see how that qualifies as a chucker mentality. I would think that his place in the offense has not been a huge point of emphasis just yet. He has to figure out how to get more rebounds, get to the freethrow line and not fear contact so much. And maybe he can figure out how to do that once everything comes together for the team. It's just too early to say right now. But he definitely has to find some gonads, especially if he continues to prove that he has a shot and needs to be checked as a good shooter.

Moon was always looking for a steal or block instead of focusing on team defense but this year he is not even trying to rebound, not to mention that he still likes to shoot from perimeter too much and, also, he is very hesitant to 'take it to the hole' as long as there is even one opposing player in the paint.

Our expectations have changed as a fan base. Last season, we had no expectations because many of didn't even know who Jamario was or what he could do. Everything he did was a bonus.

This year, nothing really has changed, yet we're (as a fanbase) so desperate for a wing player we decided to make Jamario our main answer. The thing was, that could and will never be the case. He's a nice player to have, does small things, and it's still very early in the year re: his rebounding numbers.

As for trading him? why? He's making the minimum. He holds tremendous value that way. Can anyone think of a cheaper player than him who contributes just as much to their team? Ideally, though, I'd like to see him coming off the bench as a spark plug.

This is the final year of his current contract. So, if he doesn't improve and grow some balls, instead of not re-signing him get something for him in return in a package.

Until someone steps up or Colangelo can finagle someone in a trade, the SF spot will continue to be this teams achilles heal.

I'll suit up for the team, I was holding out for LA to call(warm weather, championship aspirations) but I'll fill the void for my countries team.

Graham hasn't played much yet

i'm cetain I saw Labia Majora on one play where Moon was pulling up on a breakaway so that Prince wouldn't be able o make any tangible physical contact and bruise Moons tender boobs.

not to say that moon is playing out of his mind or anything, but his PER this season so far is better than the last. So from an efficiency point of view, he's actually improved. Looking at Moon I see a player who dropped big time in rebounds, and increased his range FG% dramatically. And he's clearly not in shape - if he was, that fast break against detroit would have ended with a big time dunk, not a pass to a trailing Calderon.
So once he gets his conditioning back, he will probably have a much better season, statistically at least.

Shame on him if he's not in shape yet.Training camp started almost 2 months ago.So through Training camp/pre-season games and working out this summer this guy's not in shape yet? If that's the case for a guy that's playing for a future contract in this league he shouldn't be starting.

one thing we're seeing is the rasho effect. the centre play has changed. rasho, and to a lesser extent, bargnani, facilitate rebounds being taken by teammates. moon's numbers last season were a product of this-- he doesn't pick boards away from JO

Look at that fast break again and tell me how would Moon finish without getting a turnover? He was doing it by the book, the defender slides in front of him, he gives the ball to trailer. Not his fault the trailer is Jose "the breaks on fast breaks" Calderon or that the pass was too obvious.
Finishing with contact has never been on Moons playbook.

I'm glad he still has confidense in his jumpshot and I wish his teammates would count on using him more at times.

Nice point. And you've got a point too Shifty, but certainly he could have faked the pass and made a move around Prince.

No shit Jeff, I agree.

That in fact, is the whole point.

The guy got here, and got a chance, however I don't remember anywhere, anyone claiming he was all that nd a bag of chips. The guy was a bandaid in a position that had been lacking huge, he just helped a little. To go home and do dick all screams about aa guy just happy to be there. One of the WORST types you can have "just happy to finally be there".

He has better get his shit straight.

moon had a head start on prince, when he's on top of his game, no way prince can catch up with jamario, especially when he can take off from the ft line almost.
I am very very dissapointed in him being out of shape (if that's what it is), but that being said, he's not as bad as some think he is.
