Don't really want Nash, he plays a no defense, jumpshooting brand of basketball.

I have a feeling we'll end up with Ilyasova or Pietrus + Dragic, Evans or Lowry.

that's not a huge concern for me as Jose was a solid defensive player in Casey's system last year.

my issue with Nash is how quickly people are to jump on a guy who most have agreed will only be here for a couple years and clearly isn't in our long-term plans.

Solid? Hmmmm, he was better sure, but solid?

Anyway as for Nash only being here 2-3yrs, i think that helps us take our time in getting his successor and maybe have him play a season or two under him before taking over the starting PG position. In the meantime, we win games and are a playoff team, hopefully the change over then is seemless when Nash retires.

Again, I'm willing to pay Nash 20 million dollars simply to teach JV how to be as effective, intelligent and efficient as possible on the offensive end.

Nash is a situation that you simply couldnt let go by. Sorry boys, his affect on the team, franchise, and his mates would be considerable. My thing is this, I don't thnk he wants to come.

Which is what everyone thinks. The only thing is, the rumored teams are apparently, NY, Phoenix, Portland, Brooklyn. Then you have Miami and Chicago but neither of them have the money.

I don't see why we wouldn't have as good a chance as most of those teams. It also depends which teams offer him a garanteed 3rd year on his contract. Besides he has said he doesn't want to be a ring chaser. Not saying he'll come here but i do believe finishing his career here intregues him on some level. All depends on what BC can do in way of moves between the draft and free agency. He'll need to make a strong move or two before making an offer to him.

I'd probably lean towards jump shots if I was one of the best shooters in NBA history as well.

hahaha... except that Nash is probably one of the best ever at getting his teammates easy buckets.... foolish to think he runs a jumpshot oriented offense

i'd like Nash and Gay (or Iggy).

Nash will be rejuvenated and has 2/3 great seasons left in him. i think he puts us back on the map and brings life to the franchise.
the marketing alone and ticket sales will increase tenfold.... and thats something that will benefit everyone.
it'll bring a lot of fringe fans back on the bandwagon and get the city talking again. we've been a pretty bad team over the last few years and need a spark. Nash will be that spark.
its more than just winning games, the raps need life blown back in them. nash does this. then you add a strong wing player (gay/iggy) and we automatically become a decent team.... a very fun to watch team.

Like i said, i believe Pietrus and Ilyasova are realistic options and at PG Dragic is our best bet with an outside shot at Lowry. You hope we can put a package together for one of Iggy or Gay which could happen as long as they're willing to move them (one of).

It's about aquiring assets that make our current assets more movable IMO

So yes we need another solid player.
