Looking at the 2008 free agent class via ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/s...2008FreeAgents)
and putting aside the cap restrictions, i'm thinking Magette is the best player available needs wise.

Rebounds less than Moon, but not substantially, scores at between a 17-20 ppg clip shoots effectively (45% last season) but what really stands out to me is his aggressiveness, gets to the line more than Bosh (last year 681 attempts to Bosh's 559...). Last year as a team we played through some of our shooting woes by getting to the line more, Magette would bring that attacking mentality on a consistent basis...and he isn't three happy, like the rest of our team.

We then move Moon to the bench, having an athletic wing coming in, possibly in a travis outlaw-like role.

Any thoughts?

I like the idea of trading for Travis Outlaw. He broke out this year, and hes still only 23. I can see him becoming a Josh Howard type scorer(17-19ppg), but the difference being Outlaw is clutch unlike Howard and isnt a pothead. And Porland knows they cant keep him so getting him for TJ could be a possibility.

We've only got the mid-level exception, so nobody of any signifigance.

The only chances of us getting a nice player is through a trade.

We can get a good player with the MLE, likely a solid big like Diop or a veteran swingman if Delfino goes

I think hoping 17-19 ppg is asking alittle much of Outlaw, i agree he did brake out last season, and i do love his game. I've actually been thinking we should move TJ, for outlaw, or through in our pick for theres, and try to pick up pryzbilla...maybe a sign and trade with delfino involved?

I dont see why he cant get to that point. Hes gotten better every year hes been in the league and hes a mismatch for basically anyone at 6'9 with his jumpshot and athleticism. He averaged 13 off the bench on a good team, I dont think an extra 3 to 4 points at least is out of the question if he gets traded and moves into a starting role.

A good player, but not a Maggette type of guy like Joshz was saying.
