Y'all grabbing stats and shit you heard right off Drummonds latest Draft video's to cut him down as a prospect.

How about you just watch the guy.

Not wanting this guy, and coveting in his place a 6'4" AVERAGE player that you can basically find anywhere, at anytime, and make yours for the right number is the MOST ridiculous thing you could possible desire.

Drafts come down to need, and they come down to risk. Which team wants to risk the most on a guy that may possibly be a dud, which team HAS to. You're no talking a top three pick, you're talking #8. If all the teams above Toronto are picking, presumably from a position of need, and Toronto is first to get a whack at Drummond, ALREADY having seen their needs plucked clean in the first 3-4 picks.... they are then in a position to have to make the gamble decision.

I say do it. Kid is a beast, he's 18 ff sakes, he isn't assertive??? Big whoop, he's also not even close to being a man. Most Kids in Canada closer to my age weren't even out of HS for another year at his age. This is such a silly discussion if people are actually dead against having a guy like that.

His 1st year in college wasn't the greatest, but we're talking about a 6-11 280 lbs center who is the most strong, athletic and explosive player in the draft. Why not Bargs, JV and Drummond? That would be a solid big man rotation with enough minutes to go around. Even better: Drummond and JV would have to compete for a starting role. Competition is always a good thing!

drummond is going to be a bust, watched a couple of the uconn games thsi year and came away not impressed,

he doesnt seem to have motor, moves slow, seem out of shape for such a young player,

obviously i hear from draft workouts that he looks much better but everyone works out like crazy during the draft, whats going to happen in year 2 or 3

if drummond is there at 8, and waiters is off the table, i still would go with lamb and rivers over drummond

actually i would take henson over drummond

Bingo! Agree with the majority. Personally,I don't buy his hype but my reason for passing on him is because JV will already be coming in as the rookie big man. Bargnani has finally come around after 5 years, don't need to wait 5 more for Drummond or trade AB when he's finally reaching his potential.

I wanted TO to draft B. Knight last season,if they had done that instead of taking JV,I'd be more willing to gamble on AD this draft but that's not the case.

at 8 you take him and run, ye he could be a bust, he also has the potential to be the best player in the draft

Yes, but seeing how much attention Javale McGee and Deandre Jordan have gotten in recent years, you'd think people would be absolutely crushing on this guy. He's got better size, athleticism and skills than Kwame had and even he has been around the league for close to a decade. Size is always an asset.

Kwame wasn't built like him, nor was he as fast or explosive.

And Drummond doesn't ave child size hands.

Drummond could absolutely be a bust for all the reasons people are bringing up. But at 8, with this team, I don't think I could pass. This team needs talent in the worst way. If there's a 25% chance he turns into a stud and 50% chance he Kwames and 25% he's average (obviously hypothetical numbers I made up) don't you have to take that chance?

I see Drummonds worst case as DeAndre Jordan. DeAndre obviously has a lot of faults in his game, but again, the potential is there, and he has improved season to season. A center who is capable of blocking 2+ shots and getting 10+ rpg is very valuable in the league. And from what I've seen from Drummond, he has a lot of ball skills that Jordan does not. You have to take the chance with him at 8. I wouldnt trade him to HOU for Lowry if he was available.

He will be traded to Houston with another player for Lowry and possibly the #16 overall pick.

Houston has made way for him after trading Dalembert and would like to get him at #5 from Sacramento but the Kings aren't budging.
Link: Report: Rockets talking to Kings about No. 5 pick, may target Drummond | ProBasketballTalk

This would leave the Raptors at #8 as the next best option if Drummond is still on the board. I've been saying now that Toronto would likely trade for Lowry if Lillard isn't available and this makes me believe it even more. I believe both teams already have discussed this and have a partial agreement if things pan out similar to what I just suggested. If the Raptors get the #16 a SF would be the best choice as a draft pick,a player like Harkness or Ross.

it's pointless, there's no way drummond falls to us
I bet he'll go top 5 in the end, happens to big guys all the time, they get talked down pre-draft and on draft day a GM will reach. Franchise centers are not as popular as they used to be, with the league dominated by durants and lebrons, but there's something about a player like that that makes GMs lose their mind.

I think Phily would jump on Drummond, Davis, and Calderon for Iggy and the 15th.

Pass. 100%. Besides he'll go to Sac and pair up with Cousins and create a frightful front court as their games match nicely. That team has enough scoring just needs more interior defense

Bring in Olajuwon to work with Drummond. The rest is out of your hands.
