A Drummond-Jonas frontcourt could be defensively unbeatable, and you take a shot on that. Even if it means a couple years of hurting in the meantime.
Yep. I'd be on board with that. Drummond's size and length are hard to pass up... and Bargs has opened enough eyes around the league to get some value in return (I'd hope).

Provided we could grab a young PG or a good wing it could be a promising core to build on.

I've seen him listed smaller. I've seen 6'10", 240lbs if i'm not mistaken.

What are his measurements from the combine?

No Shoes: 6'9.75"
Shoes: 6'11.75"
279 Pounds

But a 7'6.25" Wingspan which is the longest in the draft.

279 pounds with only 7.5% body fat, ranks among the PG's with his agility score, posts an average sprint speed while being the 4th heaviest player at the combine, no-step vert higher than Dwight Howard's was, and benched more than Howard did.

Nice.

He would be dealt to Houston for Lowry, 14th + 16th picks, maybe add Parsons or Chase too. Houston wants that franchise C and didn't we just draft ours? However, a Jonas/Drummond frontcourt - they'd bring the D.

You simply cannot, if you're Toronto, pass on a guy like Drummond. I'm happy sucking for a while longer if it means I get to watch JV and Drummond grow together. Hell, I'd put the tow of um, and Bargnani out there with LK at 2 and Jose.

Big line up man.

Jesus.

I don't see JV and Drummond working on one team well, one of them would have to be traded

Both are true 100% Centers (I might be wrong about Drummond) who shouldn't be forced or molded to play PF's. 2 rookies competing for one spot and I see Drummond taking majority of the minutes, because he is much more nba ready. Which would clearly hurt JV's development therefore i don't think it makes seance to have both on the team

Neither are NBA ready but of the two I would say JV is certainly closer. Now if Drummond had JV's work ethnic different story.

I'm not sure who started this myth that JV is anywhere close to being nba ready, but it is BS! Even in europe he gets abused defensively by the bigger C's and for at least 2-3 years he will be in the nba. While i agree that atm Drummond has way less skill, bball IQ and motor, his body is way more nba ready.

Drummond won't be ready to start for another 3 years. if you want to make some noise in the playoffs you're better keeping your best player rather than a guy who's going to give you no offensive production.
If its another year of tanking being planed, then trading Bargs is fine with me.

If the combine stats that DanH quoted are accurate I don't think it'll take him 3 years to acclimate. How long did it take D12? Seems like their body types are pretty similar.

defensively he can make an impact from day 1... if he puts forth the effort
his best offensive stats came against bad teams. anytime he played against decent opponents he would disappear for long stretches of the game and has no offensive game outside of dunking (32% shooting out of the post). PG's like Calderon and Nash will provide him with great opportunities to score... but they can provide that for almsot every big in the league
and he's a 29% free throw shooter.

and to add to that, i believe he averages less than 2 FTs a game, or some ridiculously low number. and that's coming from your center who has a physical advantage over basically everyone, especially in college. yet he's not agressive. he'll get his confidence completely shattered in the NBA...

Who said he is close to NBA ready? The statement is he's closer than Drummond and has more drive 'right' now.
