What if?

This is pretty pointless but fun to ponder. What if we traded T.J and our second rd. pick for Wallace or Harrington? Then we're able to keep our 17th pick and move up or keep 17 and pick Lopez or another big such as Hibbert. This would also probably allow us to afford to keep Delfino.

Our lineup would look something like this:

Jose/Soloman/Ukic
AP/Delfino/Kapono/Graham
Wallace or Harrington/Moon/Adams
Bosh/Bargnani/Hump
Rasho/Bargnani/Lopez or Hibbert

This would be a 15 man roster with more tradeable assets such as Rasho (exp. Contract, AP expiring contract,Kapono or even Delfino) to possible upgrade the 2 especially after you see what Bargs can do at the Centre position.

Don't get me wrong i love what JO brings to this team, but to me this gives us way more flexbility while upgrading the 3 and allowing us to possibly use some of the roster to upgrade at another spot as well with a 2 or 3 for 1 type of deal.

We probably wouldn't have done what we did if we didn't trade for JO so..

Yeah, you're right, that's a really good team with lots of flexibility.

But, I think this probably just underscores that BC was unable to trade TJ for Wallace or Harrington straight up (even with picks involved).

Though, maybe BC thought Moon would continue to improve? I know I did.

That's clearly only the first half of a sentence.

Wait, no, it's possibly just a word salad.

Fine, T.J + Graham +pick for Wallace or Harrington/Scrub!

We'd still have a 15 man roster with a couple of vets w/expiring contracts and tradeable assets.

why on earth would charlotte want TJ when they have felton, who is pretty much the same player TJ is? Not to mention that wallace is a major injury concern, the guy had 4 concussions, even in hockey that's one too many.

As far as I know TJ for Wallace really was on the table

I don't think it would've been a good move though. Wallace doesn't fit with Calderon, is an injury concern, and has a contract that would kill our flexibility in the upcoming years. I also think that getting JO has done a lot for Bargnani actually... there's no pressure to be the starter, and no shame in backing up Rasho. Plus he's obviously had an effect teaching him defense.

What if BC wasnt the most overhyped GM in the league and actually made moves to build a strong team, not a poor man's Phx.

It wasn't a case of affording Delfino as where did he end up going? Russia for a lot more cash then any NBA team was going to offer him.

I dunno. 2-time executive of the year? You don't get that award by sitting around and picking lint out of your bellybutton all day.

His true worth as a GM will be the summer of 2010.

That is right. Colangelo put the team in a good position for the 2010 offseason. Lets see what he does then.

sure it was, I've read in Charlotte newspapers on the web - but the owner didn't agree (mj was in favor). The reality is that they don't need TJ and can get something better for Wallace than a slight improvement at PG.

It's rediculous when some say he's overhyped. The fact is where were we when he came here and just two+ years later we're a few good moves away from being one of the top teams in the East. But i guess he's overhyped unless he brings a championship instantly.A playoff team ever since he arrived and a first time division champion, ahhhhh that's not enough! It's laughable.
