Ever have a "what ever happend to" pop into your head for no reason?

Don't know why. Just thought of Eric Montross. And so, it begins.

Montross announced his retirement on August 26, 2003, due to a foot injury and was waived by the Raptors in February, 2004.[citation needed]

Montross is now color commentator on UNC's basketball broadcasts, working alongside play-by-play man Jones Angell.

Keon Clark:

Clark has been plagued by personal problems since leaving the NBA. In 2006, he was due to stand trial in Illinois on marijuana and weapons charges, but never showed up for trial. U.S. Marshals found him boarding a bus in Houston, Texas and brought him back to Danville for trial. He was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, but the sentence was thrown out because he did not have a lawyer at the time of sentencing. At a hearing, Clark admitted that he was a recovering alcoholic who had been drinking for most of the time since high school. He added that he "never played a game sober" during his NBA career, and usually drank during halftime

Master P/Percy Miller:

Miller had a contract with two different NBA teams – with the Charlotte Hornets during the 1998/01 season and the Toronto Raptors in 1999 pre-season. Despite this, he was never actually on the regular season roster for an NBA team. He also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Fort Wayne Fury. In 2004, he played for the ABA's Las Vegas Rattlers. He took part in the 2008 McDonald's NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and scored 17 points .

Doug Christe:

In 2002, The New York Times[5] published a feature story in which Doug and his wife Jackie spoke about their method to keep Doug from succumbing to the extramarital temptations that are inherent to the lifestyle of a professional athlete. The couple re-marry every year on their wedding anniversary, complete with guests and festivities.

They have two children together, Douglas Christie Jr. and Chantel Christie.[6]

In 2006, Black Entertainment Television's BET J[1] launched the reality show The Christies Committed, featuring the struggle to balance family and celebrity life.

Jackie is a cast member in VH1's reality TV show Basketball Wives: LA.

During a 2012 appearance on the Rickey Smiley show, Jackie Christie announced that the couple would soon be producing an adult film.[

Don't include former Pacers forward Maceo Baston on that list. Now retired, he's spending more time with family and redirecting his competitive edge to something totally different: Cupcakes.

Awesome!:

Mengke Bateer

Quote:
Everyone’s favorite Mongolian center found work in China… in films.

He’s an actor, with three movies under his belt. He was in a movie called Bodyguards and Assassins. He played a character named Wang Fuming. Check out this incredible character description:

An outcast monk from the Southern Shaolin Monastery who became a stinky tofu vendor. He seeks redemption in order to return to his former monastery. He has a gigantic build and possesses immense strength. He is apparently killed after being stabbed numerous times by the assassins but reappears one last time to destroy a structure to block the assassins’ path.
What ever happened to that dude? Mengke Bateer edition. | Forever Dunk

Žan Tabak

Quote:
Tabak spent the remaining four years of his playing career in Spain with Real Madrid, DKV Joventut, and Unicaja Málaga. He still modeled a high caliber of play during his later career. Even as he won with Split and the Rockets in his earlier days, he ended twenty years of professional basketball also as a winner: along with Jorge Garbajosa, Tabak helped Málaga to win the 2005 King's Cup, the Spanish national cup trophy.

In 2011, he debuted as head coach with Sant Josep Girona of the LEB Oro league. In 2012 he moved to Poland where he became the head coach of the 2011-12 Polish league runner-up Trefl Sopot. In November 2012, he became head coach of Caja Laboral.[7]

fact a) he didn't want to stay

fact b) hedo was the hottest FA on the market, we weren't at all the only demand for him

fact c) hindsight is 20/20 and you're unwise to think otherwise

if TommyC actually listened to marion's exit interview here all he kept saying was "Them" and not "Us" when he referred to the team, he basically played here because he was traded here and wanted to leave the first chance he got, he only fooled people because he didn't complain or anything and that's because he was only here for like 3 months and he knew it

He wanted more money than what BC was willing to pay:

BC: "If it gets to the point where we’re not comfortable with the proceedings [regarding Marion] I may use the space to go another way, either to acquire a player in a trade or by signing someone with the free-agent money,” Colangelo said. “I have to be open-minded to that because if we’re not getting anywhere with Shawn and there’s not a deal we like in a sign-and-trade scenario then utilizing the money is certainly an option.”

Doug Smith

Bryan’s really trying to be creative”

I take that to mean if he’s not getting the right vibes for Marion and his people about the money or length of a new deal, he’s out trying to find some good fit for all concerned.

And I know Hedo Turkoglu seems destined to go to Portland but I also know the Raptors are giving it their best to see what they can do, either using Marion as a chip or in some other “creative” way.

Other than that, though, I don’t hear a lot of rumblings, which means we’ll all be surprised when something goes down, I just hope we get surprised by reading about it here first.

I have no doubt that things might move a bit more slowly this year than in previous years, money’s tight and I bet teams are waiting to see what kind of bargains are out there.

What I presume is going to happen – because it’s happened in the past here – is that we’ll get a call from someone who knows what’s going on telling us to call this or that agent and we’ll find out the Raptors have come to some agreement with some free agent.

What that’ll be is the big question.

And, sadly, I don’t have a list of names at the moment.

Yeah, because you were part of the board so you know the facts.
The way you put it as facts really made you look dumb.

Popeye Jones:

Popeye Jones - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ronald Jerome "Popeye" Jones (born June 17, 1970 in Dresden, Tennessee) is a retired American professional basketball player. He is now an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA.

During Popeye's tenure with Denver, he approached Joe Sakic of the Colorado Avalanche about his son playing hockey. In 2013, Seth Jones played for the United States under-20 ice hockey team which won gold at the world junior tournament

TORONTO -- American defenceman Seth Jones was named the top draft-eligible skater from North America by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau on Tuesday.

Only seems fitting that I should do this one.....

Raphael Araujo

Quote:
What is Araujo up to these days? After setting course for Russia upon being waived by the NBA in 2007, he was actually invited to the Minnesota Timberwolves training camp in the fall of 2008. After being waived in October of that same year before making the final squad, Hoffa has found basketball salvation in his native Brazil. After bouncing around the countryside – and probably gearing up for Los Olympicos in 2016 – he has landed with club Paulistano in the Brazilian premier league.

Both. I think it's a great story....and unlikely.

Kinda like if I was looking up Vince Carter, I'd look up his brother that went to jail.

Why? Vince Carter played for us not his brother. We did sign his mother to a 10 day, talk about her.
