Default What does Terrence Ross' future look like on the Raptors?

We have a bunch of wing players like Derozan, Gay, Fields, Anderson, Kleiza

Honestly, I believe he should be on the starting lineup, and he could become the next Vince Carter.

The situation seems like the Raptors will stick with either Derozan or Ross in the near future, one or the other.

His future looks bright in TO. He'll get his minutes,he'll continue to earn more. No need to thrust him in a starting role yet, keep him hungry. If he's having a good game, keep him in. He should be the first guard/swing man off the bench, yes even before Anderson. Either have him sub in for Demar or sub in for Rudy then move DeRozan to the 3 for a bit and sub Gay back in for Demar later.

I'm hoping when gay comes he can help and teach Demar and Ross to become successful wings ^_^

the Carter comparison is actually solid and I hadn't thought of it before. if ross improves is handling (biggest if) he can be a lot like Carter except more of a shooter than slasher while good at both with good to great defence.

The 3 bolded are mediocre players. Career role players at best. You can add Pietrus to that as well.

We do have a lot of wing players but those 3-4 guys wont stunt the growth of Ross because they are expendable players. Kleiza wont play, Pietrus wont play and expires this year. AA will probably see the biggest dip in minutes. And Landry only plays about 20 and will probably dip to 15mins

Do you really believe he's better coming off the bench? He wouldn't be a J.R. Smith or Jamal Crawford type player who can light it up coming off the bench all the time, Ross needs the ball in his hands to be productive, and He's a decent defensive player (only getting better btw), that alone should earn him a spot on the starting 5.

BC deemed Ross untouchable in the Gay deal. Today Colangelo mentioned that Demar has garnered attention from other teams along with Bargnani. IMO Derozan and Gay will have time to see if the chemistry work, if it doesn't he's a goner. Which i think might just happen eventually anyway.

TR will get his minutes either off the bench or starting. Also, I'm wondering if we'll see Gay at the four for a few games.

Just heard Butch Carter doing his job interview......er, interview on the radio and he said Ross can be beast with the right coach.

Also, he said JV should be competing for all star in 3 years.....fast twitch muscles, great hands, eats up everything that comes off the backboard.

Threw Casey under the bus as usual.

Hes a rookie ...and he's not amazing. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Hes a solid player with a lot of promise and some nice skills that make him stand out. Im not sure what he has really done to earn a starting spot.

Dont get me wrong, he earned more minutes And I like his game way more than Demars. Lets just not get too far ahead of ourselves yet.

We always waaaay overvalue and overexaggerate the skills of our own players

BC said he had 5 solid offers in place prior to his injury. We'll see if he's full of shit. But i doubt he'd say that if he wasn't going to deal him.

If he can get rid of Bargs during this period he's a hero to me, I've waited for that day for several years and it always seems to get snatched away and for some reason I think it may be getting snatched away again because his value is zero right now, although I'd take a draft pick anything.

Ross will NOT become the next Vince Carter. That's an unfair comparison. And having your expectations so high will only set you up for dissapointment.

5? Wow (assuming it's true). I didn't hear about that. Was that revealed in his interview during the Atlanta game? I missed that.

He said he had a "handful" of offers for Bargnani that were now on hold since he got hurt. He said it on the radio today, not sure if it was on TSN 1050/Fan590 or both. He did an interview with both and i'm not sure which one it was. But he absolutely said it.

I'll listen to both and let you know.

That's nice of you to offer but you don't have to do that, dude. I was googling for news updates and saw the RealGM wiretap that mentioned the "handful". Okay, so I'd assume that means at least 3. Colangelo can be a bit slick with language. Most would think 5, but I can see it being 3.

Anyway, if he's telling the truth, that's good to know, because it means the Raps are not trapped between a single crappy offer and keeping him.
