They'll mostly be minimum guys and whatever draft pick(s) we get. Buycks and Stone will obviously be gone, but Hayes and Novak are both on the books for next year.

I'd say Hansborough's option is 50/50.

I think there's a better chance he's back than he's gone cuz he's been useful as a bench guy. Unless he asks for too much I think he's back. I'd rather have a guy like him then take a chance on another random guy. Unless we know we will get an upgrade he'll be back. If anything he can be pushed down the rotation with another player ahead of him

Salmons, buycks, stone are gone imo and I expect Amir or someone somewhat unexpected to at least be shopped.

Key phrase being "for instance". The point is we need a reliable, offensive low-post specialist.

After that debacle OKC game, it might be the wrong time to say this, but Casey is probably back. And given Casey's system, and the failed chemistry with Bargnani and Gay, the right guys have to be present.

Judging by that, I suppose the Tony Allen type might be likely and something along the lines of a taller, slightly more offensive minded Chuck Hayes. i.e. someone that just plays his role in certain matchups, not as a feature.

As far as offensive bigs, I think that should be JV developing his game. Repetition and adding pieces one by one like Demar. He's unafraid of the paint, more athletic than most C's and can hit frees at a high rate, unlike most C's.

Butch Carter is right though. We're carrying a lot of dead weight on this roster still even after moving big contracts.

The Tony Allen type. Not saying it is easy to find whoever you want, but considering what Casey runs here....

Been trying to avoid saying this, but I will.........

MLSE has a soccer team that has something like a $3 million dollar salary cap. But somehow they dropped $100 million to pick up 2 players to contend. In soccer. Once again, in soccer.

Is it really that out of the question to think Liewicke is going to try and throw astronomical amounts at a guy like Durant in 2016 and spend heavily into the tax to contend? OKC is wasting their chance like cleveland did with Lebron. Ujiri's strategy of clearing the financial deck by then seems to tip off that something big is likely for that season. It is going to have to be something a star would find it very hard to refuse. And for a guy like Durant, it would be worth it.

It's mainly LF and Hayes, and thankfully - they expire next season. TH has a great contract and Salmons has a great contract as a trade chip or just to save $. Novak - really dislike how it goes until 2016 but, c'est la vie.

But signing him and trading him as an expiring allows us to spend deeper past the cap. Wouldnt be the first time a useless player was signed to complete a trade.

you can't sign him, he's owed like 6 millions unless he's waived, in which case it drop to 1M or so. We either keep him for 6, or waive him and eat the remainder.

I will be shocked if we make any kind of big splash this summer to be honest. There's no rush to do it and we'll be in a much better position next summer. So I'd expect to see us retaining PP and filling up on 1 year contracts, unless we get lucky with a steal in free agency.

it makes a ton of sense, our core of the 5 starters + PP + hayes + tyler + a (good we hope) rookie or two is proven to be a playoff calibre team. At this point, no move short of a superstar signing would elevate us to the next level, so we might as well wait. We'll get to see one more season of this core of players, evaluate our rookies and the progress of jv/ross. GOing into the next summer, we will have 2 first round picks, a ton of 2nd round picks, a shitload of cap space and a good grasp on where we at with demar/ross/jv/rookies.

Whether we make the playoffs or not next season won't even be all that critical, except in attracting a top free agent. But let's face it, the chances of that happening are slim anyway. And we should be making the playoff anyway, even if it will be much harder.

I'm curious to see what happens with KL, GV, and PP.
