Nets What did the Raps do wrong?: Nets Prefer Humphries Over Nene

Slow day... so lets discuss

Did the raps overlook Hump? Did they not give him enough playing time? Did the coaches mess up?... Nets obviously see something in him... Over NENE and D. WEST?

Nets Prefer Humphries Over Nene

The Nets could make a play for Nene, but retaining Kris Humphries is their No. 1 option, according to a source.

Humphries had a breakout season in 10-11, establishing himself as one of the league's better rebounders.

well it all comes down to role definition. The raps allowed Hump to come in and hoist shots.... Nene is a much better defender, scorer than Hump, who is more of a hustle guy. The Nets may prefer the price tag and age of Hump but it's not close to impact on winning in my mind.

Hump will be cheaper, therefor allowing them to go after Howard imo.

It's the Nets. We don't ask "What did the Raps do wrong?" We say, that's what the Raps did right.

We didn't do anything wrong. I'd take Amir and Ed anyday over Hump.

I was always a big HUmp fan. He was definitly under utilized in Toronto.
Anyways, I like he is getting some props.

he was the forward version of Sunny Weems. he's changed his focus, has accepted a role.... something he didn't do or wasn't forced to do here.

I remember Hump taking a lot of jumpshots in his time with Toronto, and most of he missed...

Utah traded him away for Rafael Ara˙jo and we're the ones that did something wrong?

OK

Humphries is more than 10-12 million dollars less than Nene. The nets are just being realistic. They don't have the money to pull nene into nj.

Don't the Nets already have a C?

They don't need to overpay for Nene.

Although the NBA is currently in the middle of a dreaded, long term lockout, it doesn't completely halt the NBA rumor mill. According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Nets will be in hot pursuit of Dwight Howard, whether it be via trade or as a free agent if the Magic won't deal him

I considered the Nets in my article about where the Orlando Magic could trade Howard if necessary, but they really have only Lopez and not much else to entice the Magic to move him to New Jersey. Draft picks are nice, but do we really want to trade for a mid round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and late 1st round picks for the future? Howard and Deron Williams would be a force to be reckon with, and they would challenge the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls for Eastern Conference dominance for years. I do agree with Mannix that the New jersey Nets will be major players if Howard makes it to the free agent stage. Of course, my main hope is that they can resign him, but who knows if a miracle is possible. What do you think Magic fans?

Brook Lopez is a damn fine center. Needs some work in a few areas, but a future all-star. Nene's no better at rebounding...

Nene played winning basketball

Humpy time played something else entirely

When does he start a new reality show with Kim?
