What is Colangelo thinking?

BC knows that this roster is lacking. He's said as much!So how long will Colangelo give Triano and this current roster to turn it around before making a move(s)?

This upcoming schedule is extremly difficult with Games against Utah,Cavs,Portland x2,Nuggets again,Indiana.

None of these games will be easy. Will he give it a month and see what happens. Will he be quick to make a move in the next few weeks if things continue to spiral downward.I truly believe Colangelo will make a move or two before the deadline. The question really is, how long will it take. And will it be one major move or a couple tweeks to the roster?

There is no way there will be a major move the most I expect is like maybe Kris or Moon leaving. Not something big ut definatly somethings that can make this team better

I think AP and his expiring contract is as good as gone. And he won't be alone.
Him and one of Moon/JK/Joey/Hump will probably be gone within 4-6 weeks.Just my opinion, but is Colangelo going to re-sign AP at his age, the way he's playing. I don't think so, unless it's for less money as a bench player.

He'll take as long as possible to avoid it looking like a band aid solution. If he truly thinks that this team is lacking at the coaching position and firing Sam was the solution then he has to be sure the person he chooses is the best possible fit and not some big name like a Flip, Avery or JVG.

Roster wise, again, if its a talent that actually makes an impact and fits us long term and not simply a short term solution.

I can see him dealing bench for bench to strengthen.

While we're at it, let's pick up Kobe Bryant for Anthony Parker :) We'll add in a 2nd rounder to be fair.

What's sucks is this team is gonna go into Phoenix Suns mode instead of San Antonio Spurs mode (i.e. searching players who like playing uptempo instead of playing defense).

Gurk 12-04-2008 10:30 PM

i guess that was BC's plan all along:sigh:

I think his message was quite clear - before he makes any major changes, he wants to see where we stand. It looks like in Bryan's mind, Mitchell was unwilling or unable to bring out the best of our roster, which probably leads to an overal decrease in value for all tradeable pieces. I don't think there's any question that there will be major moves, either in february, or this summer.

This is true. I think the least that Colangelo is hoping for is to raise the value of his players... And if that means playing an uptempo style and displaying some guys even though the team wont truly contend for a championship, then what does it matter. Its not like the style of play that is happening now is getting the team any further...
