If Chris Bosh were to stay and sign an extension, what do you think he's worth. I think most here would agree that max money is a little much for Bosh. But if you were the Raptors GM, what would you offer CB4? He'll end up with a max deal probably, because someone will give it to him.

He's set to make around 15Mil next season. What would you give him? Make your best offer, how high would you be willing to go?

5 year 90Mil + Team option for a 6th?
Max deal?

I can't come up with a number, but he's alot more valuable than anyone else on the current Raptors squad. i really hope we can sign Bosh with a nice contract.

i may be stretching, but Bosh is a top 10 nba player

16-18 million a year seems reasonable to me.

As much as I don't think he's worth max money, when it comes down to it I'm not certain that BC won't give him a max contract.

Unfortunately the way it works is by market value, so unless you can get 29 teams to think that he's not worth all that much, you're going to pay him what you need to pay him to keep him.

In the perfect NBA he'd be worth 11 mil a year, in the real NBA hes worth max money.

if the ecomony stays where it is or if it gets worse, would the salary cap be lowered in the same sense as NHL?

i think Bosh is worth what he's making now 14-16M. but LX is correct if other teams offer him their max...the Raptors need to offer their max if theres any chance of keeping him. and i doubt just matching the other teams max will make him stay unless the only teams offering him max are cellar dwellers

BC is obviously gonna try to keep Bosh, and the only way hes gonna be staying is if BC offers him a max contract. And if we dont, hes a gonner....and i dont want to loose him....he is still our best player....so i say....he gets the big contract.......

if he extends at the same price, then I think thats ok.

Moving him, contractually, into the NBA stratosphere that cripples almost every team that has a player making top money, in Toronto, would spell doom.

5 years

$15 mil first year, 16 2nd, 17 3rd, 18 4th, 19 5th

so 5 years, $85 mil option for 6th

37 million? How did you come to that denomination? Besides, he's making 15 mil this year and 16 mil the next, why would he settle for just over 13? I'm assuming you want him gone...

this to me seems a like a bit of a repeat with what happened with Sam Mitchell's re-signing, in that most will agree that Bosh isn't really "the best" guy to base your team around.... but you still sign him anyways as there isn't anyone better in the picture. Likely there isn't anyone better who will come along in the near future.

IMO this is a very difficult decision for Colangelo. I can see good reason in both sides (signing him for max money vs. cutting ties).

To me the whole question revolves around his knees. If he can be seen as a guy with few problems going forward, then he's going to be worth more than what he is worth right now. But if his past issues are a clear sign of what is to come, then he's worth less. That's where the difficulty comes into play. Hopefully there can be some good information that makes that easier. If it's a complete guess, then it's going to suck for us one way or another.
